So as usual, me and Ally went to the cafe. Today was Ally’s shift. So, I did what I did any other day.

“ALLY!” I called her name.

Ally came running to my side. “What happen Emma?” she said giving my back a rub.

“Augustus died, Emma! He died!” a tiny tear fell from the corner of my eyes. I held up the book “The Fault In Our Stars”. The book I had just finished.

“Seriously, Em! I got burned by the coffee maker and bumped my head under the counter, all for a book!” she huffed angry.

You heard her? She called me ‘Em’. She usually did that when she was really annoyed.

“My apologies, Ally, but right now is a really sad moment of my life. And I just need a friend to let my feelings out” I gave a sniff.

“Emma!” she went soft for a second. “Pull yourself together! You acting like you're the person who went through the book! This “Augustus” person is nothing of yours!!” Ally was having a fit.

Just looking at Ally with red cheeks, screaming her opinions, made me crack a smile. Taking a break from tearing.

“But” Ally said taking a breath. “All is fine, Emma. Because your payback will soon come”  Ally nodded, going back to filling coffee cups.

Her words got my worried and tense. What was Ally planning?

I heard the bell ring. But I really didn’t care. So I went back to my stuff and started doing my homework. Algebra. Ugh, yea, I really hated this subject.

“ALICE” I heard a male voice call out.

That sent a wave of panic through me. If someone knew Ally by her full name, Alice, then he was probably from school, right? And if he was from school, I really didn’t to see anyone I knew from school.

I tried to look at Ally. Carefully I turned to face the counter, where  Ally was, trying not to get caught in the process.

Ally was giggling and talking with a guy. Yup, I was right. The guy’s name was Jayden Hazel. He was one of the seniors too. He liked to play football, was really good too. But really liked to chase girls. Which wasn’t so good. I didn’t kinda like his whole persona. Too much ego problem if you asked me.

“Emma!” Ally was there waving her hands in the air, for my attention.

I mentally wanted to hit Ally upside the head. Why was she dragging me in her conversation, now?

I walked over to her slowly and casually not knowing how to respond.

“Emma you know Jayden, right?” she giggled. “Well, I was telling Jayden here how you admire his football skill, right Emma?” she said flashing me a smile.
