Chapter 2 . The First Fight

Griffin's POV :-

The fight started. But what does a Jade Blade look like? I look around and see several people trying to get a green, glass blade. Maybe thats the Jade Blade Chen was talking about?

I tap on Neuro's shoulder and said,

"I think those are Jade Blades." as I pointed to the blade. He nodded and said, "Yes. They are. I have seen blades like those. Not much for weaponry but good enough. Also... Didnt Chen mention them?? Were you even paying attention to what he said?" "....nnnnnoo....??" I replied with uncertainty. I wasnt paying attention at all. Neuro sighed heavily.

"Ill see ya later, aight? Be careful, Neuro!" He nods and we walk away from eachother to retrieve our own Jade Blade. I, of course, ran using my powers, to the nearest Jade Blade I could see. It was in a pot. Pale, The green ninja, Shade and Neuro were already running towards it.

No... That wont work. Plus, I dont wanna fight my friends.

In the corner of my eye, I saw the black ninja walking towards a Jade Blade a level below me. I ran towards it before he could even reach it.

"Hey! That was mine!!" he yelled

"Too slow, rocky boy!" I said and chuckled a bit as I ran away.

I look around, scanning the area for a sign of Neuro anywhere. He was still fighting. Heck, he was fighting the green ninja! He didnt get the blade so I decided to get one for him.

I look up and see a blade on the chandelier. Unfortunately, I wasnt the only one who noticed it. That telekenisis guy also noticed and floated his way up to it. I used my speed to jump on his head and get the blade. He yelled at me,

"HEY! YOU ALREADY GOT A BLADE! WHY DO YOU NEED ANOTHER?"

I thought of an excuse but the only excuse I had was too plaid and simple but just decided to go with that one since I had no other choice.

"No reason" I said with an sly smirk appearing across my face.

I sped off to Neuro, who still has no blade and offered him the blade I got him. I said,

"Here. I got you one"

He looked confused and asked, "What? Why?? You didnt have to get me one, you know? I can get one myself"

"Yes but I was worried you wouldnt and lose so I got you one myself"

He looked at the blade for a moment and shook his head. I am now confused. He smiled and took the blade I offered him.

"Thank you. Now, I heard once we have a blade, we go in there" Neuro said, pointing at the large door on the ground floor with the blade I gave him. I nod and ask,

"Want a shortcut? I can carry you down." but he declined my offer.

"Its fine, Griffin. I can go down myself. Hey, look. Pale is fighting one of the ninjas" I look down to see him competing with the black ninja for the blade. He unfortunately, lost. I look around and see a blade in plain sight and no one found it. I ran and grabbed it.

"Ill see you in there, Neuro" I say and start running down to Pale. I stop in front of him and give him the extra blade.

"Here, Pale." he was confused. At least... Thats what I think his expression is...

He asked,

"Why are you helping me?" as he took the blade and I responded, "were friends! Why not? Lets try to survive this together now, shall we?" I punched his arm lightly. I smile and run off into the room Neuro talked about and saw most of everyone was already in there. I put my blade on the stand where only 3 slots were left empty.

Pale and Neuro came in and placed their blade on the 2 empty slots. The shady guy announced,

"Only one Jade Blade remaining" and Chen leaned into a mic and said, "GET ON WITH IT!!!" and looked back at us. I look at the ninjas, talking, hoping their friend would win. Meanwhile as we were waiting, me, Neuro, Shade, Ash, Pale and a guy named Jacob took part in a conversation. Seconds later, Karloff came in with the final Jade Blade. I smile.

But that smile didnt last long enough. The red ninja snuck up behind him with a screwdriver and unscrew his right metal hand that was holding the blade. The ninja took the blade, left the screwdriver and used his fire powers to fly off to the stand and put the blade into the final slot. I didnt complain much but... He had to do what he had to do to stay in the tournament. I cant argue with that. I look back at Karloff, putting back his metal hand in place and looked embarrassed. I felt bad but clapped along with the others toward the ninja.

"We have a loser!!" Chen said and pushed a button that led Karloff to fall into a trapdoor where he stood. I was in shock. Where does the trapdoor lead? I shrug it off but the feeling crept up to me every now and then and I dont like that feeling.

We went out and to a different room where we took a break and ate some food. Right now, I was looking for a place to sit. I hear my name being called behind me. I looked back and saw Shade, Ash and Neuro calling out for me to sit with them. I smile and head over to their place and sat down next to Shade. My attention was then quickly switched to see Pale disappear and reappear when one of the ninjas told him to sit somewhere else. I felt bad so I called for him.

"Pale! Hey, bud! You can sit with us!" I say, fortunately catching his attention pretty quick. He headed over to us and asked,

"Really?" I nod and look at everyone else. "Right, guys?"

Ash and Neuro agreed but Shade took a while to accept. But he gave in eventually. "Sigh... Yeah. Sure, why not. The more the merrier" he said with a smile. I moved to the side a bit to make room for him to sit. When there was enough room, he sat down and ate and talked with us. He was nice.

Neuro's POV :-

"hahahah. Yeah... That was pretty good, Ash." Griffin, Shade and Pale laughed at a joke Ash made. But I just chuckled.

"Im gonna go out guys. Ill see you all tomorrow" I say, getting out from my seat.

"See ya, Neuro!"

"Alright, man. See you tomorrow."

"Get some good nights rest, my friend"

"See ya tomorrow, my Neuro bro!"

I smile a bit and walk out. I try to find an exit and a place for me to meditate. We were in there longer than anyone else were. I found a huge rock and got on to meditate.

(10 minutes later)

Its been 10 minutes since I started and I hear someone sneaking up on me. I read their mind to see if I know this person.

'Haha!! Neuro wont see this coming.'

Griffin Turner. It was obvious it was him. "wont see this coming". Typical for a master of speed to say... Sorry, Griffin. I smile and opened my eyes and right before he could pounce on me, I jumped off the rock and landed safely whereas Griffin fell on his face. Okay, I feel bad now. I dont wanna break his nose or something.

I quickly ran after him as he slowly got up. I slid down to his level and asked in a panicking tone,

"Griffin! Are you okay? Im sorry!!"

"N-no no... Its okay, Neuro... Just my nose hurts. Think I broke it."

"Oh, God, I am so sorry, Griffin!"

"First of all, Ill be fine and you dont have to worry about me. Second of all, call me Turner. I dont really like that name" he said, getting back on his feet.

"Uh... If you say so.." I say, also standing up. "Why dont we go back to our rooms, eh?" I ask and he nods along. "S-sure..."
