Dylan looked taken back, so I decided to explain.

“I knew it since the day we got back together. I-“

“You lied to me this whole time?” He asked.

“I didn’t lie, I was confused. I do love you Dylan just not like you love me.” I said. Dylan was quiet for a moment.

“Don’t be mad at me.” I whispered. “Please.” I looked down unable to hide my shame. He was right. I did lie to him this whole time. I even lied to myself. Surprisingly, Dylan put his hand on my shoulder and I looked up into his sincere looking blue eyes.

“I can never get mad at you, Hayley. I love you too much. And if you love Riker, I should be ok with that. I am. I just want to see you smile. That’s all I want. Even if it’s not me who’s making you smile.” Dylan said which made me grin slightly.

“The girl who gets to call you hers will be one of the luckiest girls in the world. Thank you, Dylan.” I said. I bent upwards and brushed my lips against his cheek. “Now, I would be really disappointed if you didn’t walk me back inside.” I said smiling. Dylan smiled wide.

“Of course! What kind of good guy would I be if I didn’t walk a lovely lady like you to the entrance?” He said, opening the limo door. He stepped out and offered his hand like a gentleman. I took it graciously.

“Why, thank you kind sir.” I said getting out. Dylan chuckled and then offered me his arm before we walked slowly to the entrance of the community center. Then he turned to face me.

“Go get him.” He said, nodding his head towards the crowd of people inside.

“What about you?” I asked. Dylan rubbed his neck again.

“I’ll be back inside in a bit. I actually have some stuff to take care of.” He said. I nodded.

“Ok. Thanks again, Dylan.” I said.

“No problem.” He said. I smiled at him before running back inside. To my surprise, the inside was more crowded then it was fifteen minutes ago. I took off my heels again and jogged around. Standing on my tippy toes I tried to spot Riker, but I didn’t. I did see his brother Ross though holding Kelsey’s hand.

“Ross!” I called. “Have you see Riker anywhere?”

“Sorry Hayley, I haven’t.” He said. I sighed.

“Well where did you last see him?” I desperately asked. Ross thought for a moment as I tapped my foot impatiently.

“Out on the patio, I think.” He said.

“Ok, thanks!” I said scrambling off. I jogged around the crowds trying to make my way to the back patio. All of a sudden, I was knocked off my feet and on the ground in an instant.

“Ouch.” I muttered.

“Hey, do you need some help?” A kind voice I recognized clearly said over me.
