“So, what do ya want?” Dylan asked me. We were at a local ice cream shop we always used to go to when we were dating before. Dylan insisted it would take my mind off my car breaking down and me being stranded. “The usual?” Dylan asked. My eyes lifted from the menu I was scanning.

“Huh?” I asked, confused.

“Do you want the usual? Banana fudge swirl on a cone?” He asked again. My mind flashed back to the billions of times we came to this ice cream shop. I remembered clinging on to his arm, his hand on my waist as we pranced inside. I always used to order the banana fudge swirl on a cone and then we’d walk to the park. When we were done, we would cuddle on our favorite park bench, not caring who saw us.

“Hayley?”

I flashed back into reality.

“Um, I think I’d rather have rocky road.” I said, closing the menu. I put it down and propped my elbow on the counter. “In a cup.”

“Are you sure? You never really liked rocky road.”

“Yeah I’m sure. Sometimes you have to give certain things a chance. I’ve never really liked it because I never tried it.” I said, saying exactly what Riker said to me before he kissed me. The kiss replayed in my head. It was perfect.

“Ok. Whatever you want. I’ll be right back.” Dylan said. He got up and gave me a little peck on the lips before going to the counter to order.

I rested my chin on my hand and returned my thought to last night. The sparks I felt were so amazing. So amazing, they were almost unreal. I never experienced anything like that with Dylan before.

The front door chimed, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turned around to see a familiar blonde walk in with his family. I got up from my seat and walked over to him.

“Riker!” I said. Riker squeezed me into a hug

“Oh, Hayley! I got your call. I’m so sorry I couldn’t get you. I had band practice. Well at least you’re ok. Thank goodness. So, what are you doing here? Who picked you up? Was it Jamie?” Riker asked. Obviously he was worried about me. I smiled.

“It’s ok. You’d never believe who picked me up. No one else answered there phones, so I had to call-” I was interrupted by the sound of someone clearing there throat. Me and Riker turned around and immediately, Riker pushed me behind him.

“Get out.” Riker said to Dylan.

“Riker stop.” I said.

“No. Do you not realize Dylan is here? The guy who almost made you kill yourself.” Riker said. I walked over to Dylan and wrapped my arm around his waist. Dylan automatically wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

“No.” Was all Riker could say.
