"Vivian I don't like this," I whined, throwing myself on her sofa. It was more comfortable than Sam's but smaller. As my feet hung over the handrest I covered my face, this was all wrong.

"I don't either but we can't do anything about it."

"Like hell, we can. His address must be listed somewhere, all we have to do is find it."

"And then what? Make things worse for her?"

I covered my face again. She was right. If we bust in there like some ninja and tried to bust her out as if she was in an actual prison, we'd just be making things worse.

Vivian threw my feet off the arm and joined me on the sofa. "Do you think she did it?"

"I don't know V, looking at her past I really don't know."

"But that was different. Oh no, what if something happened again and she didn't tell us? What if he tried something and she," I watched as she swallowed the lump in her throat before continuing, "killed him?"

"She always told us these things, why would she keep it from us now?"

We sat in silence for some time, trying to see if we had missed any signs. There was nothing. Everything had been normal, fun, crazy; as it always was with our little family.

It has been a little over four years since we met and the memory was still fresh; as if it happened just yesterday.

We were sitting and waiting to sign our contracts as was everyone else that had shown up that Tuesday. All ready to see what training would be like and what horror stories we would be adding to all the others we've heard about call centers.

My pen had decided to give out so I borrowed from the female that was to my left, who handed me hers with a smile. It was a small smile but genuine and sincere. I took the pen and smiled back, taking in her features so I could remember her face.

A half-hour later I saw her shyly asking the female that had sat to my right where she could get a taxi to go home.

"Excuse me," I interrupted. "Here you go." I handed the pen back and looked to the other female. She looked to be about the same age as I was but had an air of maturity to her and as with the shy one, I felt drawn to her.

In training was when we began to bond. We sat together for about two weeks before actually talking and getting to know each other. We found that Samantha was new to the parish, while Vivian and I had been around for a few years.

Ever since that Tuesday in 2015, we've been inseparable.

Vivian sighed, drawing me back to the present. She was worried about Sam and it showed. We both wanted to see her, just to make sure she was really safe but all we got was a phone call saying that we wouldn't hear from her for a few months.

"I'm hungry," I said, interrupting the silence. "What do you wanna eat?" I asked making my way to her kitchen.

"Nothing," she answered dryly.

"Viv, you need to eat."

"Fine, let's go out, staying here is driving me crazy." She headed to her room to change into something more casual.

Going out without Sam felt weird.
Most likely we'd end up at Jade's, our favorite Chinese restaurant and she wouldn't be there.

What were we thinking? I wondered. No matter where we went we'd have memories there with the three of us, no matter what we did, there was no way of not thinking about her.
