Chapter 4
Clint's POV
My family and I are still living in upstate New York at the safe house we were assigned to back in 2016. We were originally going to move to another house in the next town over but we ended up becoming really attached to this house. It's big enough for all of us but not too large. Sometimes when you live in a really big house, it feels quite lonely despite its size. My wife is inside making the family dinner. Both of my sons are playing basketball with the new hoop we bought for the driveway recently. I'm training Lila in Archery once again. She's the best at it besides myself in the family. I think she'll take over the mantle of Hawkeye for me. I plan on retiring pretty soon. I'd love to be her mentor. I'm getting older and it's time for me set aside so the younger people can have a chance to be in the limelight.
Lila is fourteen years old, only a year off from qualifying to be being an Avenger. Peter Parker was declared one by Tony when he was fifteen. Tony, I really miss him. We weren't close but the team just isn't the same without him. When we reunite, there is a sort of emptiness that we'll never be able to fill. "Lila, I have a question for you dear." She raises an eyebrow at me. "Yes dad?" "When you turn fifteen, would you like to apply and audition of sorts to be an Avenger? As much as I love being Hawkeye, I'm not getting any younger. You definitely have the skills to take my place if you really wanted to. It's entirely up to you. You don't even have to answer right away. You have a year to think about it."
Lila smiles at me. "I don't need a year to think about it because I already know my answer. The answer is yes, I'd love to take on the mantle of Hawkeye once I turn fifteen. Say, didn't Peter Parker become an Avenger at that age too?" I ruffle her hair. "He did indeed and that's my girl. I'm so proud of you. I can't wait to be your mentor. I'm hoping to be a mentor for the next generation of Avengers, you being my top priority of the team of course." The two of us hug one another before Laura shouts that dinner's ready. We all eagerly make our way inside and eat dinner as a family at the kitchen table. She made us spaghetti and meatballs, which is a classic for our family. We eat happily and talk about plans for the upcoming week.
Thor's POV
Being with the Guardians of the Galaxy is a lot of fun. I've been referring to us as "The Asguardians of the Galaxy." I personally think it has a better ring to it. The only one who agrees with me on that is Mantis. Starlord aka Peter Quill and I dueled it out, both of us coming to an even tie. We agreed to be co-leaders of the team, both of us having equal authority. We're currently traveling the galaxy to track down Gamora from the past. She isn't the same as the Gamora that Peter fell in love with but we're hoping that we find her and in time, she'll fall in love with him all over again. She was a cool girl, I really do hope we find her.
Valkyrie is doing such an amazing job as the queen of Asgard. I haven't seen her since we parted ways a few weeks ago but I can just feel it in my heart. I hope to pay her a visit again eventually. I miss Tony Stark but his death didn't hit me as hard as it did some of the others. I feel for Pepper and Morgan. Pepper's a single mother now and her daughter barely had any time to grow up having her father in her life. What a terrible situation, I hope he's resting peacefully. Same with Natasha. She died a tragic death too.
