Chapter 12

Steve's POV

 I keep thinking about Wanda and Vision's reunion. I'm beyond happy for the two of them to be together but I also can't help but believe the two of them don't belong here. My work is done in that time period but I don't think their work is. They seem to like this era okay but I can tell that Wanda misses modern technology that we still lack. I think I might talk to her about finding a way to have Vision and Wanda time travel to the future. Only Wanda is alive in the future but I'm sure she could find a way to resurrect Vision.  

    Wanda is currently sitting on a bench while Vision is looking at some papers in his office. Peggy is off doing her own thing right now. I take a deep breath and approach Wanda. "Hi Wanda, you look nice." She looks up at me with a smile. "Thank you Steve, so do you." "Wanda, may I join you? I have something I'd like to propose to you." She raises an eyebrow at me. "Okay." "What if I told you that I still have some pieces of the time travel device in tact. What if I could portal you back to the future?" She frowns at me. "I wouldn't be against that if Vis wasn't dead in that timeline. His corpse was nowhere to be found after Thanos murdered him. How would I bring him back?" 

   "I should have told you sooner but you seemed keen on wanting to stay here in this era. I had a chat with Shuri before time traveling back to the past. She managed to find Vision's corpse in an alternative realm. When the snap occurred, it separated a lot of the people and beings who disappeared from each other, snap victims included. You and Vision both are strong assets to the Avengers. Between Nat and Tony having died and me being here in the past, there's a lack of strength that needs to be filled. You and Vision could easily fill it. What do you say? Do you want to go home? No matter how hard you try to convince me, I know that this isn't home for you. It is for me but not for you." She sits in silence for a moment, trying to absorb this concept. 

    "Are you sure that Shuri has his corpse in tact?" I nod. "One hundred percent sure. So what do you say, do you want to go home? If you do, you be sure to tell Vision aka Jarvis before doing so. He should know about what you're planning to do." She nods. "I want to go home. Is Vis in his office?" "He sure is. Go talk to him and good luck." She hugs me before dashing to his office. 

Wanda's POV

  

 I had to Vision's office in a hurry. I'm out of breath when I get there. He smirks at the sight of me gasping for air. "Why are you in such a hurry to see me love? I was actually just finishing up some paperwork here. What's up?" "Steve and I had a chat outside just now. He told me that Shuri has your body in tact back home and Steve can help me get back home." He nods and frowns. "I can't go with you obviously. If you leave, it's all on you, Shuri, and possibly Bruce to bring me back to life. Do you think the three of you can do it?" "I do." He grabs a hold of my hands and squeezes them gently. "Then do it. I can tell that it's what your heart really wants. All I want is for you to be happy, that's my top priority." 

    I stand up on my tip toes to kiss him lovingly. "I'll miss you Vis. I'll see you soon though. Don't forget about me in the meantime." He smiles at me lovingly. "I could never forget about you Wanda. You're the love of my life." "Can you, Steve, and Peggy see me off? It would mean a lot to me." He bows playfully. "Your wish is my command." I wait for him to finish up his paperwork and then we meet up with Steve. He then summons Peggy and the four of us head to an empty area to begin the process. Steve pieces everything together in a decent amount of time. Eventually, a portal appears, ready for me to step through it. I look at Steve with tears in my eyes. "I'm going to miss you so much Steve but I know there's a lot of people back home waiting for me. Clint, Bucky, Sam, Vis, Shuri, and more." 

      Steve hugs me tightly. "I love you Wanda. Stay safe and say hello to everyone for me. I miss them just as much as they miss me." Peggy smiles at me and gives me a hug. When I get to Vis, I'm crying. "I love you so much. I promise to bring you back, whatever it takes." He laughs sadly. "Not whatever it takes. Last time those words were said, people we loved died soon after. Just promise me that you'll do the best you can. Okay?" I nod through the tears. "Okay." I pull him in for one last kiss before stepping through the portal. I feel my body cells being torn apart once again but when I step out of the portal, it takes me to Clint's house of all places. Clint is playing outside in the yard with his children. When notices me, his jaw drops. 

       He makes his way over to me immediately. "Wanda, what are you doing here? I thought you were staying in the past." "I thought so too but the past didn't feel like home for me. Plus Steve told me that Shuri managed to find Vision's corpse so there's a chance of bringing him back. I bet she has pieces of the mind stone too. I have more people here that need me. My fight as an Avenger is nowhere near finished." He pulls me in for a hug. I've been getting a lot of those today but I secretly love it. "It's good to have you back Wanda. I know I missed you a lot. You're like a sister to me. My kids love you too. They've been asking for you. Would you like to stay for dinner at least before you teleport off to Shuri?" 

     My stomach rumbles, answering on behalf of both of us. He laughs. "I'll take that as a yes. We're having steak and mashed potatoes. Laura's almost done cooking actually." He shouts for the kids to come inside with us. They light up instantly when they see me, each of them jumping into my arms. "Auntie Wanda, it's so good to see you." They ask me a thousand questions each but I don't mind answering them. Laura tears up at the sight of me. "Wanda, you're back. It's so wonderful to have another familiar face around again. Please join us." I smile at her gratitude. "Thank you Laura, I'd love to." She sets a place for me at the dinner table and we all eat like a family. This is the most normal I've felt besides having reunited with Vision and Steve in the past in years.

    When dinner is over, I freshen up with a hot shower. I also brush my teeth and use the bathroom. I don't want to overstay my welcome here. I'll come back to visit Clint or vice versa. Right now, I need to get my butt to Wakanda to see Shuri. We all head outside to the backyard so we can say our goodbyes properly as I fly off to Wakanda. Clint was cute to think I would teleport there when I can fly.
