Chapter 27

Nick Fury's POV

Time Skip... Two Months Later...

 Tomorrow I'm officially being wed to the love of my life. Right now, I have to suffer through a bachelor party. Thor insisted that I have one and every male Avenger, Guardian of the Galaxy, etc is here. Most of them are drunk off their asses. The only sober ones are myself, Bruce Banner, and Peter Parker (mainly since he's underage still). I really hope no strippers show up to this party. I'm not fond of strippers. The only woman I want to see strip naked in front of me willingly is Maria... privately... in our own bedroom. 

    I look over at Thor who is dancing on top of the bar shirtless. "Bruce, you two are complete opposites. How do you put up with him on a regular basis?" He chuckles. "I have no clue sometimes but that's the funny thing about love. It hits just hits you like a train at full force. Opposites often do work out as couples. The saying reigns true and we're proof of that. For example, Thor is heavily into gaming. I'm not big on video games and don't understand the hype over them." I snort. "I figured that. You'd rather be hauled up in the lab all day long running experiments. You should have Thor be your test subject for once instead of yourself."

      He frowns which causes me to realize that I'm crossed the line. "I'm sorry Bruce, that was very insensitive of me. I didn't mean it in a bad way despite how it sounded." He sighs. "It's okay Nick, I'm used to hearing that. I do prefer quieter activities and I don't see the shame in that. Vision is a huge reader. He prefers to spend his free time reading romantic poetry both to himself and Wanda." I nod. "Reading makes you less stupid, I'll give you that. I've never been much of a reader but I respect readers big time." The two of us sit in silence for a few minutes listening to the music in the background before I mingle a bit with other people. This is going to be a long night... I hope Maria's having a better night than I am. 

Maria's POV

 I'm hours away from being a bride. All of the women keep squealing as I open up bridal gifts during my bachelorette party. All of gifts are both lovely and useful. My favorite one is from Pepper Potts which is a Disney themed waffle maker. I'm secretly a huge Disney fanatic and waffles are my favorite breakfast food. I thank everyone by giving them huge slices of cake and hugs. I wanted to keep this celebration low key and relaxed. Getting wasted wouldn't help me for the wedding. Save the excessive drinking for the reception. Listening to our loved ones toast us while being drunk while be quite the entertainment, forming memories that we won't forget. 

   I hope Nick is having a decent time. I know he's not big on parties but it was sweet of the guys to want to throw one for him too. They all went out to some bar while we're having mine in Stark Tower. I can't wait to be his wife in the morning. I love Nick Fury with all of my heart. He is truly the man I'm meant to spend the rest of my life with.
