Peter Quill's POV

 Gamora seems to be giving me less of the cold shoulder and more of cordial acceptance of my presence. It's not a ton of progress but it's definitely a start. When I sit down next to her, she doesn't immediately get up and move somewhere else. "Gamora, I know you don't entirely trust me and that's understandable. You're a different version of the Gamora I once knew. I apologize for assuming that you were going to be exactly like my Gamora. Just because you're from the past doesn't make you any less of a person or any less of a being. Will you forgive me?" She stares at me in shock. "I wasn't expecting that apology and you being so open with me. I do forgive you. You're not entirely at fault. I shouldn't have kicked you in the balls when we first crossed paths. That's not how I usually greet people for the first time.So I too apologize for my harsh actions."

    I laugh. "I figured but it hurt like hell. Like seriously woman, you've got aim and coordination like the universe has never seen." She smiles at me sincerely for the first time since we met again. "Thank you Peter for the friendly compliment. I won't kick you in the balls again. Please promise me you won't touch me though without my consent. Men do that to me enough has is." I nod. "You got it. I'll leave you alone so you can spend time with your sister." I smile at Nebula before giving the two of them some privacy.

Gamora's POV

"Nebula, I was wrong about Peter Quill. Even though he acts like an idiot at times, he's also very intelligent. I realize now that he's the guy that buries his intelligence and abilities deep down inside because he's afraid of how everyone will perceive them. He uses idiocy to cover up that intelligence and his abilities. It's a shame, I find intelligence and strong abilities really sexy." She snorts. "I knew you'd soften towards him, I just didn't expect you to this soon." I roll my eyes at her. "Oh hush Nebula." She elbows me playfully. "I'm just teasing you sis. After all, I did mean it when I said that we eventually did become sisters. I'm glad you're coming around to Peter though. He actually really does love you. You changed him for the better." 

    I raise an eyebrow at her but allow her to continue speaking. "Because of you, he went from being an idiot to being a semi-intelligent man. You helped him to love again. He sure as hell didn't receive enough as a child and you filled that void for him. He also filled that void for you. After all, our father was a mad Titan. He only cared about ruling the universe, not making sure his daughters survived until the day. He also stole the both of us. Adoption is just the cover up term for what he did." I sigh. "I realized that during the battle. He never loved either of us properly but also we never loved ourselves properly. If we really valued ourselves enough, we wouldn't have settled for the life we had with him for as long as we did."

     Nebula sighs. "I think that's true but we can't unwind the past. We just have to keep moving forward. The present is our present, let's do things differently this time around." I wrap an arm around her and lean my head on her shoulder. "That sounds like a plan to me my dear sister."
