Chapter 14

Peter Parker's POV

 Since Pepper has so much pull in the legal system (as well as many other places), she was able to get us an adoption hearing far sooner than most people would get one. Rhodey and Happy are here in attendance along with Morgan, both of them are supervising her. I was debating about having her come up front with us but I didn't want her to get rowdy. Even though she's a genius, she's still a kid. The hearing shouldn't take too long. I'm just so emotional right now. The last few weeks have been grueling but yet I have this life changing opportunity to truly be a Stark. I'm still going to keep Parker on my name in tribute to my aunt and uncle but I'm adding on Stark. I feel like I'm both equally, therefore I want both names to be a part of my last name.

    Pepper is already aware of my decision and agrees with it. The two of us stand hand in hand while the judge reviews our case silently among herself before the hearing actually begins. My heart is beating a million miles an hour. After a few minutes, the judge begins speaking and the moment becomes surreal. She has given approval of the adoption and is more forward with it. Tears spring to my eyes but both Pepper and I swear in officially in court and do the adoption oath. I say it with the most gratitude I've ever felt in my life. I really thought I was going to end up in the Foster Care system which is corrupt these days but I'm so thankful for Pepper for not letting that happen to me. The city stills needs a neighborhood Spiderman for years to come. 

   After the oaths have been said aloud, the judge smiles sincerely at the both of us. "Congratulations Peter, you are now legally Pepper Potts' son. You're also legally Peter Parker-Stark." I jump into Pepper's arms and she spins me around, not caring if I look like a little kid. Morgan then comes running down the corridor and hugs my leg tightly. "YAY!! Peter is my brother now!" Happy and Rhodey come down a moment later to keep an eye on Morgan but also to congratulate Pepper and I on the adoption. I'm thrilled to have a little sister too. Being an only child is very isolating at times. I look forward to bickering lightly over silly things as well as watching her grow up within the very same house. 

   

Morgan's POV

 Peter is my brother now and I'm very happy that he is. It's lonely not having a brother or sister but now I have the best brother ever! I think Daddy would have been so happy about it too. He loved Peter as much as he loved me, 3000. I'm going to love Peter 3000 forever. Same with Mommy, my uncles and aunties, and all of Mommy's friends. This is the start of the best life ever! We're all leaving this weird place we're at to have ice cream. I'm going to have a big bowl of cotton candy ice cream. It's yummy in my tummy.
