Keifer's POV
I sighed as the feeling of winning Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids started to sink in. I looked up towards the ceiling of our temporary hotel room and smiled to myself, thinking about how far we've come. And by 'we', I mean my best friends, Mackie and Francis, and I.
I ran a hand through my hair, when I heard the door open, revealing one of my friends, Mackie. I stood up from the hotel bed and watched as he buttoned his blazer.
"Are you actually going to go through with it?" I asked, with a small smirk on my face. Mackie blushed madly as he sat next to me on the bed.
"Y-yes. I will," he stuttered. "I'll confess to Esang."
Esang was one of the other contestants on the show, who got third place overall. She is a really good friend and we spend time together pretty much everyday. She hangs around Mackie the most though, but Francis and I don't mind.
In fact, because they spend a lot of time together, the public and our fandoms have started to put them in a relationship together and shipping them, leaving Mackie hopelessly in love with Esang.
All in all, Mackie has always liked Esang from the start from the show, and it was pretty obvious to the public eye. But tonight, at our celebration party, he plans to confess to her.
I laughed a little at the thought of my flustered friend, causing him to look up at me.
"I-is it a bad idea? Will she like me back?" he asked, putting his hands on his head.
I laughed again and patted his head, "Don't worry, Mack. From the way I've seen Esang look at you, she definitely likes you back."
He looked up at me again.
"And probably already knows that you like her," I mumbled.
Before he could respond, Francis opened the door, ready and changed. "Okay! I'm ready! Let's go!" he exclaimed, before striking a pose.
I laughed and Mackie seemed to relax a bit. Let's just hope nothing goes wrong.
The three of us took the elevator downstairs, hopped into our car, and drove to the venue. I met up with my parents and hugged them, thanking them for all that they've done. I saw Mackie and Francis hug their families. Once the greetings were over, we greeted our friends, the other contestants.
I hugged Sheena and Kyrstal, and then the rest, who all wished us luck and congratulated us. When I got to Esang, she seemed to have a different vibe then her usual happy and bright feeling. She had a fakeness to her smile, like she was straining herself. I hugged her but didn't get too close.
I brushed off the feeling, and went back to sing some songs with Mackie and Francis during karaoke.

"We just wanted to thank you all for coming. Please wish us luck and we go on with our careers!" the three of us cheered as the party came to the end.
Everyone started to slowly leave but from the corner of my eye, I saw Mackie pull Esang into the other room. I signaled Francis, who was helping to clean the trash, over and we hid behind the door leading to the room they were in.
I heard Mackie's voice first, "E-esang, I have something to tell you."
I watched Esang's emotions carefully, but her face remained a blank slate.
"I like you. A lot," Mackie finally confessed. Francis let out a little gasp but I covered his mouth in time, so it wouldn't make a loud sound.
Esang was just standing there, emotionless. But she finally spoke up, in a tone I have never heard her use before, "Yeah, sure you do. But you don't."
Mackie looked up with sincere eyes and said, "What do you mean Esang?"
"I mean, you told everyone you liked me and just led me on for the past 16 weeks! And now you beat me off the show, which I clearly should've won. If you really did like me, you wouldn't have done that!"
Mackie looked at her in disbelief, "Is that really what you think? Do you really think I'm capable of that? Of leading you on, when all my feelings and words have been genuine?"
"I liked you, Mackie. And I thought you liked me too," she said, crossing her arms.
I shook my head in disbelief. How can someone have such a selfish mindset? Is this even the sweet Esang we know?
Francis and I were about to step in, but Mackie interjected.
"I don't know how you think that, Esang. You've never acted like this before. This all just came out of nowhere," Macke calmly stated. "Maybe all the fame and money got to your head."
Esang opened her mouth, about to protest, but nothing came out.
Was it true?
I should've noticed it earlier. Esang's behavior has been getting greedier and greedier lately. She's been talking about how she would win the show and trash the competition, but we've never cared because we thought she was joking. Ever since her popularity grew on YFSFKids, she's been acting like this.
How could we not have known?
This wasn't the Esang we've known ever since the beginning of the show. She's changed. Or maybe, this was her real personality all along?
Esang scoffed and left the room, leaving Mackie just standing there.
Francis and I rushed over to Mackie and hugged him. Mackie fell back into our arms, putting his head on my shoulder.
"What just happened?" we all said in sync.
A/N -
Probably the worst chapter I'll ever write but at least it explains I guess. The next few chapters MAY be flashbacks, but it depends on how much I want to write, so you MAY not see 'Y/N' until like the chapter after the next one. TY for reading!
BTW, would you rather have me update more frequently (almost everyday) with shorter chapters (500-800 words) or about 2-3 times a week with longer chapters (1,000-1,500 words)?
