*Still In The Past*

Keifer's POV

I stuck by Mackie's side as we entered the hotel room we shared. He hasn't said much of anything and has been looking like he was in deep thought. Francis went to change in the bathroom while Mackie casually took the liberty of just changing in front of me.

I turned around as he started to change and asked, "So, want to talk about it?"

I heard a Mackie mumble, "Yeah. I kind of want to." I laughed as he signaled me to turn around, making him glare at me even more. I saw that Mackie had changed into his own pajamas.

Francis came out of the bathroom in his pajamas and I quickly went by him to do my nightly routine and change. Once I was done, I walked out of the bathroom, tying my hair into a ponytail, and saw Francis sitting on the bed and Mackie looking down at his phone, mortified.

"What happened?" I asked, curiously. Mackie threw his phone at me and jumped on the bed, a few tears in his eyes. I caught the phone and looked at it. My facial expression immediately turned into a mixture of anger and sadness.

I looked at the picture on Instagram posted by a fan account. It was a picture of Esang crying with a caption saying, "Mackie Empuerto just led on our queen and dumped her after winning YFSFKids! Confirmed by our queen herself!"

I turned off Mackie's phone and placed it on the table and scooted my way into the bed, where Francis was trying to comfort a broken Mackie.

"Mackie," I started. "It's okay. Everything will be fine. Esang will come around."

He answered in a hiccup while digging deeper into Francis's and I's embrace, "No, it won't. She made it very clear she hated me. And now her fandom hates me too."

I looked at Francis and communicated to him through my eyes. We decided to just stay silent, so we did.

We sat there and hugged Mackie. Because we knew he didn't need our words. So, we let him cry softly into our sleeves.

And just sat by his side, until we all fell asleep huddled together that night.

Mackie's POV

My eyes fluttered open as the sun filled my view. I flinched at the brightness, but propped myself up on my elbows anyway. I found myself in between my two sleeping best friends as the events of last night rushed back into my mind.

Francis stirred in his sleep, as I got up and made my way to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, and changed into normal clothes.

I heard a persistent knock on the door and went to answer it before the other two woke up. I ran a hand through my hair as I opened the door, feeling all the color drain from my face

"Esang. What are you doing here?" I mumbled, looking down at my feet. I heard an agitated sigh come from the girl in front of me. I looked up to see her reluctant face.

"My manager said to apologize, so I'm sorry," she said, tiredly. My face heated up, but with anger this time.

"Why should I forgive you, Esang? After you falsely accused me of leading you on? After you spread the word to your fans, and having them turn on me too?" I cracked, stepping outside with her, to avoid waking up the other two.

Esang grabbed my hand, making me step back a little. She looked at me with the fake sincerity that I just realized she used on me for the past couple weeks.

"Mack, you know that I didn't mean it. Come on, I accept your feelings. We can date now, and get all the publicity we want. Wouldn't that just be great?" she begged.

I scoffed in disbelief. So that's her motive? To feed off of the fame she could get by dating me?

"Stop Esang. Just stop. I can't do this! My feelings for you were sincere. But you, you are just horrible!" I yelled, not caring if I woke up Francis and Keifer.

"What do you mean 'were', Mack? You still like me and I still like you!" Esang reasoned.

I tore my hand away from hers. I turned toward the hotel room and opened the door, before turning my head back to face her.

"No, Esang. I don't like you. And I hope I never do again," I left her standing there and entered the hotel room. I closed the door and closed my eyes, falling onto the floor and leaning my head on the door.

I didn't realize that my friends were awake until they both sat next to me and comforted me. I stood up, realizing something.

"Mack?" Francis worried.

"You okay?" Keifer then asked.

I turned to them with a genuine smile on my face. "Don't worry guys. Esang was just a phase. I'll get over her. But we're going back to school soon, right?" I grinned.

They both nodded at the same time, with the same confused expression.

"Then, let's make the most of it!" I smiled at them, hearing them sigh in relief as they returned soft smiles.

A/N

Honestly I feel really bad for not updating, but I promise to update more often because summer break is coming up for me soon (My school is different from the normal summer break schedules in the Philippines, because it's an American based school)

I'm still trying to figure out a schedule for updating so here's a few choices for you guys to vote on:

Everyday except Wednesday chapter updates (500-800 words)

or

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays chapter updates (1000-1800 words)

Please give me feedback using those two update schedule choices. I want to keep this story consistent and at a pace enjoyable for readers. Please also follow me for more updates and announcements regarding this story because I don't want to keep disrupting the flow of the story with Author Notes. TY for reading!
