Slowly Leaning Forward

Mackie's POV

"Esang accused me of stealing her fame, leading her on, and even later tried to reconcile just to date me and get even more famous," I whimpered. "She has been trying to reconcile and date me ever since then. And that's what my friends and I are all shooken up about."

I looked down at the floor and stayed quiet. I opened my mouth to speak. I've never realized how much Esang hurt me. I've never realized how much I was actually hurt.

I don't think I ever talked to Keifer and Francis the way I'm doing with Y/N right now. We've been too busy preparing for the tour.

An image of Esang flashed through my mind.

Then, an image of Y/N.

My mind lingered on the picture of Y/N. I thought about the girl who I just met. Whose smile makes my heart throb. Whose sullen face makes my heart fall.

I looked up and saw Y/N looking at me. She shot me a small smile, but it seemed like she was debating something. She locked eyes with me again and leaned forward.

Y/N was slowly leaning forward and I found myself unconsciously moving forward as well. I put my hand in the space between our legs, and moved even closer.

Is this it?

My eyes fluttered half shut as she leaned in closer. Her eyes squinted a little as her hands locked onto my shoulders.

Is this my first kiss?

My eyes fully closed as I slightly tilted my head to the side. I felt Y/N move a little closer so I locked my hands around her waist. She tensed up under my touch.

Everything was moving too slow for me so I leaned all the way forward. My lips touched her skin.

But not her lips.

I opened my eyes and saw her hugging me. I kissed her cheek. I kissed Y/N's cheek. On accident.

Well, crap.

I turned my head urgently and hugged her back. My face was blushing red as I melted into the hug.

This feels so right.

She awkwardly pulled away and smiled at me. Suddenly her eyes widened, as she rushed to her phone. I saw the reflection of her phone's clock through her bright eyes.

"We should go sleep, Mackie. It's late. Thank you for letting me open up to you," she walked back to me. "And thank you for trusting me."

Y/N leaned down and grabbed my face. I just sat there in shock as her lips gently touched down on my left cheek.

She pulled away and said, "Night, Mack." Then she left, closing the door.

My hand slowly snaked to my left cheek, as I stared at the door in awe. She called me 'Mack'.

"Wow," was all I managed to get out.

Y/N's POV

I rushed to my room after closing Mackie's door. My face blushed beet red as I closed my own door and slid down the back of it.

My fingers grazed my lips, the thoughts of kissing a boy's cheek clouding my mind.

Then I think back to the 'hug'. But was it really just a hug?
