Percy's pov:
Day before Montauk beach. Gotta get everything ready, we were all having a sleepover in Pipers house. Me and Jason were in the living room.
Haha, nah I'm just going to wait for Jason to come and do it for me.
5-4-3-2-1-
"Percy, where is your suitcase?!" Jason shouted, annoyance plastered on his face.
"Oh u-"
"Save it. I'll just do it myself. Every single time." Jason whispered, to which I just laughed.
"Soo ... you and Rachel?" Jason asked, whilst folding my clothes and putting them in my blue suitcase.
"Wait what? Djdjnsn ..." I said, my voice going a octave higher.
"Dude, everyone can tell you're lying. Just ask her out already!" Jason pleaded.
I shook my head no, muttering 'too soon'.
"Is it 'cause of Annabeth?" Jason hesitantly asked.
"WAIT WHAT?!" I asked, I was so confused.
"She hates it when you're with Rachel. You're too oblivious to see, but everytime you stare at Rachel. Basically all the time, Annabeth is either glaring or looking away, a bit upset. Man, Piper is rubbing off on me." Jason said.
I arched an eyebrow and laughed.
"She does NOT like me. If anything she hates me. The thing is, I don't even like her that way, even if I did, it would definitely not work out. Rachel is way easier!" I said, in between laughing.
Jason wasn't laughing with me, he was just pointing behind me, eyes widened.
"What, is it a spider?" I asked, turning around.
It was something much worse than a spider.
"You shouldn't make assumptions Percy, and please Jason, Percy already hinted that I'm 'not good enough for him'. If you guys want to talk behind my back, at least be quiet so I can't hear!" She said, tears forming in her eyes.
Me and Jason didn't say anything, we just looked at her in shock.
"I'm gone, and you guys can carry on talking about who I love in peace." She whispered, then went off to get her stuff.
Annabeth's pov:
I went off to go see if my book was there, I had misplaced it for the millionth time.
Before I came in, I heard hushed voices, Jason and Percy.
I should've just let them be, but then I heard them say my name. Intrigued on what they would say about me, I listened.
WHAT THE FUDGE.
I'm going to kill Jason, and maybe Piper, and definitely Percy. Jason noticed me watching with my arms folded, and his eyes widened.
Percy turned around too, and both their faces were of shock.
"You shouldn't make assumptions Percy, and please Jason, Percy already hinted that I'm 'not good enough for him'. If you guys want to talk behind my back, at least be quiet so I can't hear!" I half-shouted, tears forming in my eyes.
"I'm gone, and you guys can carry on talking about who I love in peace." I said, then went off to go grab my stuff.
Immediately, the others came in, confusion etched on their sleepy faces.
"What happened?" Leo asked me, when I tried to push past them.
"Ask Percy and Jason!" I screamed, letting all my anger out. Immediately, I started to feel guilty, mumbling sorry, I left the already packed room and went off to the girls side to get all my stuff and leave.
I know this sounds petty, but now I'm realising that most of my arguments are because of Percy. And now I realised I need to stop looking at him wistfully, and forget about love.
Because the aftertaste of love, is pure hate.
Piper's pov:
Once I realised that it was Percy and Jason's fault, I quickly started to interrogate those two.
"Jason, what the hell did you do?" I asked in hushed tones.
We were all huddled on the couch.
Well, some of us were, Leo was sprawled on the floor and Rachel was sitting on the chair opposite the couch.
Whilst Annabeth was trying to leave, Hazel was in the room talking to her.
"I made assumptions about who she likes, and Percy said something about her." Jason whispered, Piper could tell that he was fearful of something.
"And what did Percy say?" Nico asked. I jumped, I didn't even know he was sitting right next to me.
"That he doesn't like Annabeth that way." Jason barely said, looking down at the floor.
Percy was sitting next to him, looking very worried.
"I didn't mean it in a rude wa-"
Frank cut him off. "No offense man, but the only thing you do to her is flip her off." He said.
Percy gave him a glare.
"Are you serious Percy, even if a girl doesn't like you. They'll still feel hurt, that's basically saying you called her ugly. FOR THE SECOND TIME. Percy Jackson, I swear, if you do not go and apologise to Annabeth right now. You'll no longer be able to talk, because my fist will be in your throat." Thalia shouted, a death glare present on her bright blue eyes.
Me, Thalia, Hazel, and Rachel had grown to love Annabeth. We were all like best friends. Not 'like', 'are'.
Percy gulped and went off to the room in which Annabeth was in.
Annabeth's pov:
"Hazel, please go, just let me pack in peace." Hazel kept on pleading, telling me not to go.
"But why?" She kept on asking.
I sighed inwardly. "Because Hazel, what would you do if a boy you used to like hints at calling you ugly. Twice. And guess who he says it to? Jason, for goodness sake. And then Jason will tell Leo, then Frank, and then somehow at school they'll tell the Stolls. And it will be all ove-
"A boy you used to like? Was it Percy?" Hazel whispered, as if there was someone watching us.
I just nodded my head and looked at the floor.
"But Annabeth, stay here with us. You won't have to talk to him." Hazel pleaded yet again.
I just nodded in defeat, knowing that if I didn't go I'd regret it, and she squeeled in delight.
"C'mon then let's go. The others are probably wondering if you left." Hazel said, dragging me off of the bed.
Right when we opened the door, Percy was standing there, looking around.
I arched an eyebrow, and left him standing there.
Hazel gave him a sympathetic look, and then went off to where I was going.
Everyone turned around and stared at me, either looking concerned or scared.
Don't worry, I don't bite.
