Thx to everyone . . . On with the story
~~~
I walked off down the busy street, concerned strangers giving me looks. I brushed it off though, I didn't need their pity.
The only problem was that Percy was still following me, calling my name. Anyone who was watching this would automatically think I broke up with him, or he did something stupid.
"Annabeth, please just hear me out!" Percy called, running towards me.
I turned around, my cheeks fuming. "What do you want, Percy?"
"This was all a misunderstanding. I never meant to imply that we didn't trust you," he smiled sheepishly. "Of course we trust you, just some more than others."
My hardened glare softened, but I was still mad. "And what makes you say that they'll even listen. Once they notice I'm coming to talk to them, they'll all lie that they're busy."
I blinked furiously so my tears wouldn't fall down my face. "That's what they always do now," I took a deep breath. "Even Piper."
I didn't even see Percy come up to give me a hug, until I could smell his familiar sea -like scent, and the warmth of his arms.
"Gods Annabeth, we would never ever make you think that way," he quickly whispered in my ear. "We're in a busy street, and everyone is watching. Do you want to talk to them now?"
I nodded, breaking our embrace. Walking off with Percy, I took a deep breath.
Time to confront the others.
~~~
I sighed, and knocked on Thalia and Jason's door. Percy had called them a few minutes ago to say if they could round up the others and have a talk.
Ignoring the irritating sound of my unusually loud heartbeat, I waited for one of them to open the door.
The door slightly opened, it's hinges creaking a little. Once Jason noticed it was me, he whispered something to the others. He opened with a nervous smile, and Percy and I went inside.
Percy sat down on the couch next to Leo, but I didn't even bother to sit.
Looking down at the floor, unable to meet their gazes, I started on my speech that I had mentally written in my head when we were walking here.
"Okay um, I know you guys are probably wondering what I am doing here. But I've noticed you guys have been, h-have been avoiding me," Piper looked ready to speak, but I quickly carried on. "I don't think any of you guys, except for Percy, will believe me after I talk, but it's worth a try."
I turned to Percy, and he gave me a subtle nod. "I haven't spoken to Luke in 4 months. I haven't seen him in school for 4 months. Yeah, I think he can change, but do you really think I'll be doing this plan if I was with him?" I glanced up to face them. "The only thing suspicious I've been doing is finding a way to get you guys back."
I looked ready to beat them up, but my shaky voice gave it away. "I'll be going now." I wiped a tear off of my face. "Just remember that I hate Luke as much as you guys, probably more."
I stood for a few seconds, letting it sink in their small brains. Sighing, I walked out of their house, their door was already open. As if they expected me to leave, or someone else.
I went back to Piper's house. I still lived there, I just couldn't bear to talk to my dad because he would try to talk about Athena.
Weird right? Living with a girl who secretly thinks you're part of a terrorist group. It's just like having a step sister you still didn't like. You didn't talk to them, they didn't talk to you.
I slumped on the bed, ready to think about life and contradict myself.
Right when I was ready to start the thought train, Piper sent me a text. Hmm, I thought to myself, Piper never sends me texts anymore.
I pressed the home screen of my phone, and checked to see her message.
Piper: Get your butt over here
I frowned at the message, was she going to contradict me too? Or did she finally understand what I was saying.
Putting my shoes back on, I grabbed my phone and then headed out of her room and into the outside.
~~~
I knocked on their door yet again. After about one knock, the door opened with a very embarrassed looking Thalia opening the door.
I hastily went inside, then crossed my arms. "What do you want to talk about?"
I heard Jason whisper something, something inaudible. I cupped my hands to imply that I couldn't hear him.
He ran a hand through his short cropped hair. "We're sorry."
"What?" I asked.
Thalia butted in. "Jason said we're sorry, we're sorry that we ignored you," she said. "We were just scared and we needed someone to blame."
I smiled, a long real smile that I hadn't done in ages. "All of you?"
Piper gave me a shaky breath. "I've been acting like a female dog to you, nowadays," she said. "And I don't think I would've have known if Percy didn't scream at us when you left."
Percy smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I don't think she would've either."
I turned towards Percy, shock evident on my face.
"You shouted at them for me?" To be honest, that did not sound as romantic as I thought it would.
He nodded, and I wrapped him in a hug. "Seaweed Brain." I said still holding on to him.
Percy looked ready to kiss me, and he would've too, if Leo didn't open his mouth and killed it.
"Okay, okay, I know this is supposed to be romantic, but please, save it for later." He said.
I realised everyone was watching. Blushing, I stopped hugging Percy and turned to the others.
"You forgive us?" Piper looked amazed, as if she thought I would hold a grudge.
"Yeah," I smiled at her. "I think I do."
Because although sometimes my friends can be utter idiots, they were still my friends.
And people always make mistakes, you've just got to learn to either love them, or hate them.
