(A/N I am so bored ... )
Annabeth's pov:
"What do you mean I'm going to get them together?" I asked both of them, whilst my heart pounded so hard I could hear it.
Piper shared a knowing glance at me.
"C'mon, Annabeth, you could go to one of them. Tell that person you know who they like, and then help them get that person." Hazel said, smiling at the thought of it.
"What do I get in return?"
"A very happy Percy and Rachel." Hazel told me.
But a very sad Annabeth, I thought.
"Fine, I'll do it. But only because I care about Percy and Rachel, and I want them to be happy." I told them.
"Yes! Now go, start." Piper shooed me out of the room.
When she told me to get them together, I thought she meant AFTER Montauk.
I guess I was wrong.
I spotted Percy still talking to Rachel in the kitchen, their hands were annoyingly close to each other, causing my stomach to drop.
Percy noticed me coming and arched an eyebrow.
"Hey Percy, I need to talk to you. Alone." I gestured at Rachel.
Rachel seemed peeved at this, and Percy just shrugged, following me to the outside of the house.
"You know how you told me you like Rachel?" I asked him, a bit of an edge to my voice.
Percy nodded wearily.
Ignoring the lump forming in my throat I carried on. "Well, I'm going to get you guys together."
"Woah, hold on. What?" Percy was taken aback.
I rolled my eyes. "You guys are both oblivious to the fact that you're hopelessly in love. So with you as you and me as me, we could be a pretty great team."
Percy smiled a bit.
"I'll guarantee you that by the end of this holiday, you and Rachel will be together."
"Why are you doing this?" He asked, a small smile to show he wasn't angry.
"Because that's what friends do."
"Correction. That's what BEST friends do." He then bumped his shoulder on mine.
"Now c'mon, you have a soon-to-be girlfriend waiting for you inside." I gestured to the house.
Me and Percy both went inside, then went our separate ways.
I went off to the storage room, and found A4 paper, and a stock of black biro pens.
Using them to my advantage, I drew a table, all I had to do was survey my two 'patients'. See what they like, what they don't and then BOOM, Percy and Rachel will be dating.
Rachel was now sitting in the living room, her shoulders slumped and her face etched with disappointment. Did she think that me and Percy - no, no, n-
"Hey Rachel, let's play a game." I said, waiting to see her response.
She seemed shocked at what I had told her, probably because that sounds too suspicious.
"What kind of game?" She asked.
"Umm, well I made this game myself. But I played it with everyone else, and now only you need to play. It's basically called like or hate. It's like truth or dare, hence the name." I lied, wondering to myself if she would know.
Rachel seemed to buy it.
I mentally did a happy dance. "You go first. Like or hate?"
"Like."
"Okay ... ooh this is a tricky one, what do you like best about ... umm Percy!" I exclaimed, pretending to think about the person who I wanted to choose.
"Well." Rachel's face burned a bright red. "Well, I like his eyes. Although I have the same colour, his eyes are just really cool, it's like they reflect the water.
"Oh, okay cool. Pretty weird answer though."
I looked down at my watch, pretending to be shocked. "Oh my, is that the time?! I need to get ready for bed." I exclaimed.
"Sorry Rach, maybe another time though. Bye." I ran off to the girls room before she could reply.
"Hey Piper, where's Percy?" I asked her, she already knew what I was going to tell him, Thalia and Hazel both knew too.
"He's in the boys room, they're playing on the playstation, but just to be on the safe side, I think you should knock." I blushed once Piper said that.
She smiled at me knowingly, but I went out before she could say anything else.
Knocking the door, I heard shouts from Leo and Jason.
"I'm not going to come in, it's just that Thalia is calling you Percy, and she's saying you better come now or else she's going to kill you." I lied, if I said I needed to talk to Percy himself, then all the boys would get the wrong idea.
Percy muttered some unflattering words, and then I heard him get closer to the door.
We were face to face with each other, until I coughed awkwardly and told him to follow me.
"I asked Rachel what she likes about you."
"Uh huh."
"And she likes your eyes."
"My eyes? What, does she like that my eyes are round, like any normal per-"
"No, you dummy. She likes the colour of them." I pushed him slightly with my hand whilst laughing quietly.
He scratched the back of his neck and looked at me sheepishly.
"Yeah, I knew that."
I just rolled my eyes and was about to leave when Percy called me.
"Hey, Annabeth, I don't know why you are doing this, but whatever the reason I just want to thank you." He told me whilst blushing a bit.
"Hey c'mon, that's what friends are for." I replied.
"Ok then bye Annabeth. Leo probably killed me because now our teams losing."
"Oh yeah, classic Leo. And Percy?"
"Yeah?"
"Let's stop with the arguments please"
He held his hands up. "Ha, no promises."
I laughed, and went back into the girls room.
Yeah, I know that if I'm making him and Rachel get together, it should be making me more distant with Percy. But to be honest, I'm kind of liking this.
Me and Percy, best friends.
Just friends.
Nothing more.
