It's like 6 in the morning for moi, but I had a dream about a freaking sabre tooth tiger trying to eat me. I couldn't run fast, like the floor was made out of mud, so the tiger came close to me, and opened its mouth wide. It felt sooooooooooo real, and right before it ate me, I woke up, so alarmed that I can't go back to sleep! 😂
~~~
"You're doing all the talking." I told Piper.
Piper nodded. "But you better not chicken out, if you have a problem, we all know, okay? The others feel left out sometimes."
I tensed up a bit, but reluctantly nodded, then pushed Piper to make her get the door.
"Why me?" She said.
"Because it's your door, and also because I might strangle Leo because of how loud he is." I actually wasn't joking.
A small smile tugged at Piper's lips. "You better hide."
"What do you mean I should hide?" Annoyance rolled off my tongue.
"They're going to come rushing at you, in other words. You're dead." She gave me a sympathetic pout, but I could tell she was teasing.
"Just get the door, Piper." I said, slumping down onto her light beige beanbag.
She walked off, still calling to me. "Don't say I didn't warn you!"
Gods, that girl is dramatic.
Right when she opened the door, her light floors started to tremor, like a thousand drums beating in unison. Thalia, Leo, Percy, Piper, Hazel, Jason, and Frank all came rushing towards me, their faces grim.
I
quickly ran to the bathroom, and locked it, knowing there was no point because they had already seen me.
"We know you're in there, Annabeth!" I could hear a voice, vaguely sounding like Thalia.
"Um, Annabeth is busy right now! Come tomorrow." I joked, hoping they'd forget about my 'problems' and leave.
"Please?" Percy called, his sarcastic humour evidently gone.
"What?"
"Please can you tell us?" He said. "We're your friends and -"
I heard Leo mutter. "Percy, you're her boyfriend."
I opened the door with a huff, so I didn't have to hear more of Leo's comments. "Fine"
~~~
"Your mom is an asshole." Thalia blatantly said, receiving a glare from Piper.
"We don't say that about people's moms!" Piper scolded, sounding like my aunt.
I chuckled slightly, then remembered what she had said. "She's not my mom though remembe -"
"This all works out, then!" Frank was grinning, then immediately shut up with Thalia's glare.
"Seriously Frank, Annabeth found out her mom is alive and lied to her for her whole life, and this is a good thing?" Thalia said
"Hear me out." Frank's eyes bore into mine. Dark brown, to a thunderstorm like grey. I nodded, so subtle that if you blinked a second too late, you would be able to miss it. Luckily, Frank seemed to catch my gesture, and carried on.
"We're all supposed to be playing a part into defeating Kronos, and now Annabeth plays a part." However weird this sounded, it did seem to work out.
"We've all got parents that are part of the government, incredibly important parents." Hazel's gold eyes darkened a little. "But how do we know that it's us, the Olympians have had so many affairs, they probably have hundreds of kids!"
The idea seemed ridiculous. Twelve important officials that controlled this country, no, this world, had many affairs with many unfortunate people. I recoiled at the thought of that.
"Yeah but we know Luke. Maybe he'll change because he knows us. Unlike the other kids, we have big enough connections to Luke that we could actually be a threat to him." I breathed in. "In other words, we could be targeted."
Thalia started to mutter under her breath, then decided against it. "Luke can't be turned back, you saw how weird his eyes were. They were a different colour! I don't know what going on, all I know is that it is seriously far-fetched."
I gave her a hard glare. "I know how Luke is."
Thalia threw up her hands. "Correction, you know how Luke is around you, you don't know his real self. He's evil, Annabeth, how do you not understand?"
She was starting to push my limits, but I did not want to have another argument. "Jason, you know what to do right?"
He firmly nodded, whilst glancing at Percy, sharing a knowing glance. "Yeah I'll remember to bring it when we go to do you-know-what, but Annabeth?"
I raised an eyebrow.
"Don't do it."
His voice sounded strong and tense, as if he had trained himself in the mirror to say it. To be honest, that was a very Jason - like thing to do.
"Don't so what?" The others were intently listening, not that they had a choice, either.
He creased his eyebrow, pursing his lips as well. The scar we had joked about one too many times seemed to jut out, revealing the one flaw Mr.Perfect has.
"You're going to do something aren't you? You're going to do something when we go to Kronos." His features softened. "Don't ask me how I know, I, I just do."
I ignored his question, not ready to answer it. Piper looked up at me, her face shocked.
I breathed out a sigh. "We've got more important matters to discuss. So doe-"
Leo started to lose it. "We don't keep secrets, Annabeth. Not any of us." His hand jutted up, directly pointing at me. "Except for you."
"Leo, stop -"
"Can you just tell us something, and not lie?!" He was shouting, his voice raising louder at every word.
I stumbled back. "I don't have any secrets."
"Gods Annabeth, you lie to us every single day, and we know." My stomach dropped, as if someone had stabbed it with a blunt knife, but still managed to cut through.
"He's right." Jason intervened, his usual happy tone now stern.
"What, you guys are going to just turn on me now?" I shouldn't have asked that question.
Because that's exactly what they did.
