Annabeth's pov:Thankfully, as we descended up the elevator, there was no music.
Unfortunately, Leo made that up for us.
"Soo, how long is this going to take?"
"Shut up, Leo."
"It's so hot in here."
"Shut up Leo."
"Who wants to play a game?"
"Shut up Leo."
"Ok fine, I'll shut up now."
"Thanks le-"
"There's 104 days of summer vacation, and school comes along just to en-"
"Shut up Leo!" We all burst at him, causing him to throw his hands up in mock surrender.
The elevator dinged, signalling us that we had made it to the top floor, where Kronos resigned.
I cautiously stepped out and checked the surroundings, and then a laugh as sickening as Luke's rang through my ear. I turned towards the sound, only to be met with the said boy, his eyes glistening gold.
The others came up behind me, weapons ready. Luke started speaking, yet his voice was different.
Deeper, older.
"What are you doing here?" His smile faltered.
"Where is Luke?" My voice wobbled, for I had a slight understanding as to what was going on. I turned towards the rest of them, Percy and Jason looked at me sympathetically. They knew, they knew and they didn't tell me.
I turned towards lu- Kronos. "What did you do to Luke?"
He laughed again, sending shivers across my body. "I'm using him to stay conscious, he is alive, barely. Once I make my full transformation, your precious friend will be burnt to a crisp."
I blinked away the tears that were starting to form in my eyes. I could not show I was vulnerable, I could not.
"You know all this is pointless? This will not change anything."
"Oh really?" He sighed. "For once I gain control, my group will be unstoppable, and then I will rule the world."
"You're starting to sound like a disney villain." Percy said.
"Silence!" He grabbed a sword- no a scythe, and thrust it out. "You will obey me, or else you'll die."
Hazel gasped in shock, because hundreds of guards started to pour out of nowhere, ready to fight.
"This isn't fair!" Thalia screamed.
Kronos laughed. "Do you think I care about being fair?"
Touché.
Out of nowhere a guard came out from behind me, trying to jab his sword into my chest. I sidestepped out of the way, grabbing my dagger in record time. He leapt back ready to attack once more, but I threw my dagger with as much force as I could muster, and heard a loud cry of pain and a thud. Turning towards the sound, I gasped. The dagger was impaled in his neck, and blood was pouring out of his mouth. This was like something out of a horror film.
Closing my eyes, I plucked the dagger out of his neck and wiped it on his armour. In the meantime, Hazel was doing a great job of keeping the others at bay, her spear long enough to jab at people at a long distance. Frank was like a beast, shooting arrows at any guard that came in a 3 metre radius. Leo was running everywhere, holding a, a hammer? He had literally brained a guard with it, so I figured that was an okay weapon. Piper had her blade with her, jabbing at the unfortunate guards that dared to mess with her. Thalia was throwing her shield at the guards, managing to cut their necks, and the shield coming back to her like a boomerang.
Percy and Jason? They were, well, they were wow. Percy's sword was so nimble and fast, I couldn't even manage to see how it looked, only the blurs of the fast movement. Jason was as quick as Percy, not a second slower. I wondered who was better, now that would be a problem. They would probably kill each other trying to find out.
Suddenly, I broke out of my thoughts, for a loud cry of pain ringed through my ears. A guard had managed to break into Piper's circle and had stabbed her in the leg, a deep gash mind you. I rushed to her side, forgetting about the woman I was fighting.
Jason noticed her fall too, and immediately rushed to her too. He was one of our best fighters, I did not want him to sit down and treat her. "Jason, get back into the battle."
Jason shook his head. "She needs my help, I'm not leaving her."
I smiled. "She'll be in good hands," I gestured for him to leave. "Now go! I don't think Frank can injure that many guards without your help."
Jason was hesitant for a second, just looking at Piper, before he turned towards me. He nodded and left, letting me care for the injured girl.
"Okay Piper, I'm not a nurse, but I do know that this is going to hurt, okay?"
She gritted her teeth, and nodded. I rubbed the medicine I had 'borrowed' from someone around the edge of the cut, making sure it wouldn't be infected. I then grabbed the bandages and wrapped it around her leg. She gasped in pain, but thankfully didn't move. I then took out some pills and gave it to her.
She raised her eyebrow, and looked back at me. "No, that isn't drugs, it'll decrease the pain," I nodded towards them. "Swallow it, the pain from the leg will go away for a bit. But you need to rest."
She groaned in annoyance. "Sorry Piper, but that leg will just slow you down. The guards will be quicker, and I don't want you dying, Jason will kill me." I joked.
Piper smiled and laid down on the floor, way out of harm.
I smiled too, and told Hazel to go keep an eye out for her. Hazel nodded, and ran off to Piper, her face beaded in sweat.
I then sprinted off to where Percy was, back to back. "Guess who took their time?" Percy teased, whilst effortlessly fighting a young guard.
I rolled my eyes. "Piper was hurt, I gave her some stuff. Now shut up, Seaweed Brain, and fight."
Percy knocked down the guard and turned towards me, smiling. I was off my guard when a man tried to stab at my shoulder. Percy pushed past me, and managed to kill the guy, his face furious, a look I had only seen once.
"Thanks, Percy." I breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Anytime, Wise Girl."
