Annabeth's pov:
"Annabeth, we need to talk."
Percy's face was red with anger, and his eyebrows furrowed.
Confused and shocked, I crossed my arms and tried to ignore him.
"So Luke, what were you saying?" I asked the boy, he too also looked mad, like as if they had a bad past together.
"Annabeth, please just follow us and let's talk." Thalia asked, for once she was not teasing and she looked concerned for my wellbeing.
"Sorry Luke, but I'll be back in 2 minutes." I told him, his 3 other friends were confused, I was glad they weren't part of this commotion.
Percy led me to a small clearing where Luke and his friends couldn't see us.
"Now what do you want?" I crossed my arms. "Because if I'm in trouble or something, then you don't have to act all serious about it."
"This isn't about you, it's about Luke, he goes to Goode as well. Thalia knows him and I do too. " Percy replied, the fact that he said that I had nothing to do this made me boil with rage.
"If this has nothing to do with me, then why the heck did you guys take me here?"
Percy looked at me like I was from another planet.
"Annabeth, Luke is bad news. Sometimes he can be your best friend, taking you out or studying together. But out of nowhere he'll change and start going bad. He's done it too many times, and we don't want it to happen to you."Taking this all in, I looked at the others, all nodding their heads, trying to convince me that Percy and Thalia were right.
"He seems nice to me." Thalia opened her mouth to say something but i cut her off. "So I'll just talk to him and we won't even be close."
"Annabeth, don't you da-." Percy shouted but I couldn't hold the rage inside of my stomach.
"Don't you dare what?! Don't you dare have friends, don't you dare this, don't you dare do that! Listen, I had a mother that used to tell me this, and now look where she is. So please don't act like her."
I got ready to walk away.
"Now if you guys excuse me, I'm going to go talk to my new friends."I left them standing there, and I walked off to Luke and his friends. Once they noticed me coming, they turned around so it looked like they weren't listening.
I rolled my eyes, getting ready to listen to Luke drone about how they're wrong.
"Annabeth, don't listen to th-"
"I'm sorry Luke, but I've only just met you today. No matter how many times you tell me something, I just can't trust you."
Luke was taken aback, and then he started muttering to himself.
"So let me get to know you." He quietly said, arching one of his eyebrows and forming a small smile.
I nodded my head.
"Tomorrow, why don't me and your friends meet up at the beach. Then we can go somewhere or something." I didn't want it to be with just him, then he would get the wrong idea.
"Sure!" He exclaimed, then blushed because of how eager he sounded.
I laughed, then turned around to talk to his other friends.
They all looked awkward, except for the beefy girl, she looked like she wanted to use me as a punching bag.
"Hey Clarisse, is there something on my face, because you keep on looking at me." I replied to her.
"There's nothing on you. I'm just checking to see if you're weak. And I'm guessing you're not." She told me, adjusting herself to look more relaxed.
"You guessed right." I told her, then noticed the two boys staring at the beach house.
"It's been nice meeting you guys, but I have to go. See you tomorrow then." I waved, then ran back inside the beach house.
Once inside the house, Percy and Thalia both tensed and then stared at me.
"What did they say?" Thalia quietly asked.
"Nothing about you guys, so can we please just forget this petty argument."
Percy muttered something to himself, and then nodded and went to the kitchen.
I noticed Rachel was there too, and I mentally arched an eyebrow.
Jason was on the mahogany table, writing something on a crumpled piece of paper.
Since he was the only one that I thought wasn't going to ask me about Luke, I decided to go talk to him.
"What are you doing?" I asked, his face tensed in concentration, and his glasses hanging loose on his nose.
"Oh this?" He pointed at his work. "Homework, figured doing it now, so I have more time to relax. When are you going to do yours?" He asked me.
"I don't have any homework, I did it before we went."
"All of it?!"
I laughed at his outburst. "Yes, all of it."
"So you don't suppose if I, you know ... "
"Sorry Jason, but you should've been more wise." I replied, then went off before he could argue some more.
Since I had nothing else to do, I checked my phone for messages.
Dad- Hey, do you like the trip? Helen says she misses you so much, and so do the twins!
Rolling my eyes at the message, I turned off my phone and went off to the girls room.
Piper and Hazel were both in there, probably discussing which celebrity is the hottest or something like that.
"There you are!" Piper pointed at me, then smiled evilly. "We've been talking about you and Rachel."
"Me and Rachel what?" I sat down next to the girls so we formed a small triangle on the soft white carpet.
"Well, we think Rachel likes Percy. And the best part of this all is that we know Percy likes Rachel." Hazel said, with a small gleam in her dazzling almond eyes.
"So we're going to try and get them together. Well actually YOU'RE going to try and get them together!" Piper exclaimed, pointing at me dramatically.
Although this seemed pointless, it was smart. I mean the boy who you are ignoring to love, helping him get together with one of your best friends.
Nothing can go wrong with that!!
Actually ... a LOT of stuff can.
