Be There For You

“Wow that was smooth!” Jerry put his thumbs up with a huge grin plastered on his face and Jaden nodded, throwing the needle away carefully. He’s learn and grown much more than he has thought he would ever be. “I still remember the first time when you pushed the needle into my arm.” Jerry laughs,

“Was it that bad?” Jaden frowns and the old man nodded,

“My friends thought I had gotten vampire bites.” Jerry commented and Jaden laughed. This old man has been with him since the first day of his intern and he really means something to Jaden. Jaden pulls out the drawer and took a package of cigarettes knowing his patient too well.

“What are you doing?” Jerry didn’t know how this doctor knew that he had hid cigarettes in the drawer.

Jaden shook the pack of drugs in his hand with a smirk, “you can’t do this anymore. It’s harming your health jerry.” He assures,

“It’s hard to quit.” The old man pointed out, “I tried…but I couldn’t take the blow.” He looks at the package in Jaden’s hand longingly.

They stayed quiet for awhile until Jerry got something into his head, “fine, I will quit.” Jerry beams happily and Jaden’s grin grew wider in excitement.

“Under one condition.” The patient put up his finger.

“What is it?”

“You have to give up coke.” Jerry sees Jaden every lunch time with can of coke in his hand and it’s bad. Jaden swallows hard, coke is like his life. The only thing he drinks. But he also wanted his patient to quit to.

Jaden sighs, “Fine, let’s both go through it.”

Jake just finished his second operation of the day with Jasmine and her intern Shane and his intern April. She has started opening up a little to him each day and it made him really happy. April was a sweet, bubbly girl that has lost all her parents in a fire at a young age. That’s one reason that Jake respected her even more. April walks beside Jake through the hallway with Shane strolling behind Jasmine writing down notes.

“That was a dangerous call.” Jake breathes wiping a sweat that rolled down his head,

“But we saved both her and the baby in the end. It almost gave me a heart attack.” Jasmine smiles at the ground. They walked through the white halls and all of a sudden her stomach started hurting so she had to stop and lean against a wall at the side. The baby was just bothering her the whole day, and it made her feel so weak.

Jake instantly rushed to his friend, “are you alright?” his worried tone rang through the ears of the intern and they looked at each other worriedly.

“I’m fine.” Jasmine squeezed her eyes with one hand on her stomach.

“Have you eaten anything this whole morning?” Jake questions seeing her ghostly face.

“A banana.” Jasmine tries to stand up straight and walk down the hallway easily, but Jake just shakes his head and grabs her by the arm rushing them over to the cafeteria slowly. The interns just shrugged and walked off, because it was almost their lunch break also.

“Does my brother not feed you?” Jake asks angrily pushing her down on the chair, but Jasmine just bounced back up.

“I’m fine.” She closes her eyes and was about to walk back to her work,

“It’s almost lunch. Stay. I will go get something for you.” He demands but she just shakes her head and held the wrist of his hand.

“I don’t feel well. I can’t get anything in.” Jasmine sighs, taking a seat on the chair.
