18. Penguins!

Em's POV

I was sat in Ashton's car and he was trying to make small talk but failing. Finally Luke came back and whispered something in Ashton's ear. I tried to listen too but everyone knows I can't hear normal talking let alone a whisper. A frown swept across my face " Lucas Robert Hemmings, where are you taking me?" I demanded, I've never been good with surprises. But he just laughed and blew me a kiss as the car started rolling. The journey was quite, only because I was hoping the silent treatment would make Luke give in. But I've had no luck yet, Ashton must have realised what I was doing because he slipped a CD into the radio and American Idiot was playing. Luke seemed to have known this would get me singing, damn these boys are clever. I kept my mouth shut with great difficulty but I managed. Luke clearly didn't like that, the next song sounded like an acoustic, the chords playing Lego House except it wasn't Ed Sheeran singing, by the way Luke reacted I'm guessing it was him. He turned off the radio and looked out the window. I did the first thing I thought of which probably wasn't the best idea. I reached over and kissed his already red cheeks, sending them into a new definition of red. " I love all the songs, I'm just trying to hold a grudge but it isn't easy when it's against someone like you. It makes you want to just forget everything. By the way I'm known for holding grudges, so don't think I won't hold one" his face lit up and then he frowned again. We must have arrived because the car had stopped but before I could look around something or better yet someone was covering my eyes. I'm guessing it is Michael since it smells like soap and these boys wouldn't smell of soap, other than Michael. " Don't try struggling cos I don't mind knocking you out. It ain't my date so just be careful. K?" I didn't reply, waiting for him to move his hands.

"THE FUNFAIR!!" This was my favourite place as a child an now I'm here with Luke, this is going to be awesome. " What do you want to go in first?" I asked Luke since he seemed nervous. " The, erm, walterz?" I nodded eagarly, I wonder what's bothering him?

After an intense ride on the walterz, roller coaster and several other rides we decided to look around the stall things for a bit, I told Luke I would be back in a bit and rushed off over to the stall that had the penguins on it. They were literally my size, and I'm not that small. I pulled out my purse to play the game, hook a duck, this is my game. After several attempts and failing I'm sure the guy felt bad for me and just handed me the bear. I took it gratefully and searched around to find Luke.

Luke's POV

Em had just ran off, what did I do?Wait, maybe she is using the toilet. I'll take this as my chance to get her something from the booth, then I saw it. A massive penguin, Beth told me that was her favourite animal so why not! I looked to see what booth it belonged to and it had to be the kissing booth! I didn't even know they had prizes for that? Reading the board and realising that to win you had to kiss this girl for the longest, I thought this would be easy since I had all those years of swimming and just going under water this should be easy.

I had won the contest and was getting my penguin for Em, there were loads of cheers. Who knew so much would come from something so small. Looking around I found someone with a massive penguin like mine, where the one I was holding was pink and white this other persons was blue and white. It was adorable, once the penguin was moved from the persons face I realised that they had tears running down their face from their puffy red eyes, she looked so sad. Yet she looked so familiar. Was that Em?
