There were hands grabbing me, bringing my arms behind my back. My skull throbbed painfully from where I was hit. The butt of a pistol was pressed into my back, the cold metal sending shivers up my spine.

"Subject E5-09 secure," the Winter Soldier said into the mic. There was static and a reply crackled through: "Bring her in."

Terror washed over me. Without thinking, I let loose an extreme burst of power. A blue wave of energy spread from my body, knocking everyone away from me.

Stupid, stupid, stupid, I thought, knowing I was already in enough trouble as it was. Knowing I had to escape, I was about to will myself to turn invisible when my leg gave out from under me. I hit the asphalt once again, white hot pain shooting through my leg. Looking down, I saw blood pooling around my thigh. No, it wasn't my time of the month. HYDRA made sure I could never have children.... Instead, there was a bullet buried in my leg, right over my previous wound.

I swore badly, but the Winter Soldier didn't seem fazed. He started towards my fallen figure, aiming his gun for the kill. The edges of my vision were tinged with black. I tried to sit up, fighting to stay awake. I was just about to give into sleep when a sound like thunder rumbled across the sky.

Lightning streaked across the sky, hitting the ground a few inches from my shaking body. I shrieked in terror, backing away from the fried pavement, which was sizzling, a stream of smoke rising from the spot. Fearing for my life, I raised my hands, making a feeble shield around me. As another bolt of lighting struck, I screamed again, the shield shattering. I looked up, seeing the Winter Soldier on the ground, groaning. His silver prosthetic was smoking, as if it had conducted the electricity. He got up, ignoring me and instead turning to the person who had struck him. At least, I think that's what happened.

Standing there was another man. He was bigger, more muscular, and had long blonde hair that blew in an unseen wind. His blue eyes were alive with electricity. He wore armour and a long red cape. In his hand he held a hammer. No, not the pathetic construction tool, I mean a block of grey stone glued to a leather stick. Lightning flickered around the hammer, snaking its way around the object.

Behind Lightning Dude were four more people. One guy was dressed in black with purple accents, a bow in hand and a quiver slung over his back. The guy beside him, at least I think it was a guy, was wearing a suit of armour. Red and gold armour covered his body, with a faceplate shielding his face. His suit was filled with technological enhancements. The only ones visible to me were the foot thrusters for flying and mini arc-reactors on each palm. Probably for blasting, killing, and destroying. An arc-reactor was placed in the middle of his chest. Just looking at his suit, I knew it was a gold-titanium alloy. Hey, I told you I had enhanced senses. My vision is, like, 40-40, if that's even a thing.

Behind Gold-Titanium Alloy was yet another man. I stared at him, confused. He wore a star-spangled suit, brandishing the white, red, and blue of America. He wore a blue helmet with a white A painted in the center, above his forehead. On the sides was a pair of tiny white wings, like a healm. Patriotic Suit also sported a shield. It was round, like a giant frisbee. No, scratch that. It was a giant frisbee. The frisbee was painted with red and white circles, with a blue star in the center. After being at HYDRA for so long, I didn't know the exact date, but I was pretty sure it wasn't the fourth of July.

On Patriotic Suit's left was a woman. And I mean, a woman, as in just one. It looked like she provided all the estrogen on the team. She had flaming red hair that curled around her shoulders. She wore a black skin-tight uniform, with a utility belt around her waist. In each hand she held a gun. The way she moved was graceful, like a swan. Wait, no, I thought. Swans can't kill. Maybe a cat. I nodded. Cats could kill, Well, maybe not kill, but they could definitely permanently injure someone. Like, they could scratch someone's eyes out. Just saying.

Cat Woman, Patriotic Suit and Frisbee, Gold-Titanium Alloy, Arrow Guy, and Lightning Dude. Yeah. When I landed in New York I didn't know I would be crashing a ComiCon festival.
