I got to Natasha just in time to see her jump off her motorcycle. It skid toward a soldier, who was wiped off his feet. She ran forward, and I followed, engaging in hand-to-hand combat with the nearest soldier. When he saw me, he sneered. "Kid, walk away. You have no idea what you're getting yourself into. Just walk away, like a coward."

"I'm not walking away from a battle I can still win." I grunted, aiming a punch at the guy's head. He ducked, catching my fist in his own. He twisted my arm and I grunted in pain.

He gave me that I told you so, look. "Walk away, kid. Walk away."

Instead, I backflipped. The guy who was holding my wrist yelled as he was flipped to the side. I wrenched my arm from his grasp and kicked the back of his knees. He fell to the ground groaning. He sent me a hated glare, picking himself up. I smiled a twisted smile, my eyes flashing blue.

"There's no shame in walking away from a fight you can't win," I smirked. "That's not cowardice; That's being smart."

He gave me a look of loathing before picking himself up. "I ain't losing a fight to a preteen girl." He scowled.

"I'm actually thirteen, but whatever. Have it your way." I turned invisible and jumped over his head. The guy looked around in surprise, wondering where I went.

"Hey, bimbo, over here!" I said from behind him, turning visible. He whirled around and his face caught my fist. Sporting a bloody nose, he hit the ground unconscious.

"Great work, Chloe." Nat called.

She shot a soldier with one of her Widow's Bite cuff, which electrocuted him. She turned to face Rumlow, who was standing on the roof of the truck. I turned invisible, sneaking up behind him while Natasha took the front. She struck first, jumping onto the roof of the truck and going for the head. He ducked, grabbing her collar. Nat fought back, zapping his neck. Nothing happened.

"I don't work like that no more," he growled.

"Nat!" I yelled, going for a punch. Rumlow seemed to sense me behind him because he caught my fist and yanked my wrist. I cried out, turning visible again.

Rumlow smirked. "You've been busy with the recruits," he said to Natasha, who tried to kick his knee. He just looked at me. "Lesson one: This is what happens to those who mess with me."

He threw Natasha aside and the next thing I knew I was thrown inside the tank. Something dropped through the latch; A grenade. I looked up just as the latch clicked shut. It was locked.

"Fire in the hole!" I heard Rumlow shout from above.

"Chloe!" I heard a strangled cry from outside the tank.

"No!" One of the mercenaries in the tank said. I looked around, seeing three of them. Quick as a flash, I punched one in the face and kicked the other's neck. They both slouched, unconscious. The grenade was ticking, about to blow. I grabbed the last soldier by the shoulders and used him as a human shield. That's when hell broke loose.

The grenade exploded and the doors to the tank were blown open. I was thrown from the truck and landed on my back. Natasha rushed over to me. "Chloe! Oh, gosh, Chloe, did anything break?"

"Ugh, no. I don't think so," I coughed. "I'm good." I looked around. "Where's Rumlow?"

There was a blast coming from the Institute. By the time I looked up, part of the building's been blown off.

"Sam. He's in an AFV heading north." Steve's voice said from the comm.

"Chloe, lets go." Natasha called, starting up her motorcycle. She patted the seat behind her.
