Steve's team, that's us, ran towards the Quinjet. We were getting close when a fizzing stream of energy sliced across the runway. I stopped in my tracks, the beam leaving a smoking trail right where my foot just was. I looked up to see Vision hovering overhead.

"Captain Rogers." He said. "I know you believe what you're doing is right. But for the collective good you must surrender now."

While he was speaking, Natasha ran up and Tony touched down. Rhodey flew overhead, dropping T'Challa, who rolled to the ground. They joined Tony's side. Peter swung in and Vision flew to the ground.

"What do we do, Cap?" Sam asked from my left.

Steve's mouth was set in a hard line. "We fight."

"This isn't gonna end well." I heard Natasha mutter. What? Super hearing, remember? We stood across from each other in two lines.

The two teams started walking towards each other, neither stopping. Everyone had one look on their face: Determination.

"They're not stopping." Peter said, looking at the rest of his team. I could sense he hadn't been on the hero gig for long.

"Neither are we." Tony said. We started to break into a sprint. Steve, Bucky, Scott, and Clint ran while Sam and Wanda took off. I followed, propelling myself into the air. Tony, Vision and Rhodey flew at us, the rest of his team running. We were a meter away from Tony's team when the real battle broke out.

As we met, I flew into the air, watching from above and waiting for the right moment to strike.

Steve blocked a punch from a descending Tony. His armored fist met with the Vibranium disk with a clang. Clint knocked an arrow, took aim, and fired at Vision. The android let the shaft phase through him. Rhodey flew after Sam while, on the ground, Bucky traded blows with T'Challa.

An explosive arrow hit Tony from behind, the impact making him sway mid-air. Natasha threw Scott across the courtyard. He shrunk and disappeared from my view. I saw Wanda and Bucky ganging up on T'Challa, whose claws were exposed in vengeance.

I scanned the battlegrounds for anyone else. I felt something coming towards me, something from behind. I felt something small latch onto my back. Just a small jerk on the webbing was enough to make me lose my balance. I tumbled through the air, falling towards the ground. I saw Peter there. I groaned; So far, I really liked this kid.

But he was really pissing me off.

I shot a blast at him, which he avoided. I grumbled in annoyance, blasting the web off of me. I quickly regained my balance, resorting to flight. Peter looked mildly surprised.

"Nice!" He called up at me.

"Whose side are you on?" I yelled back, shooting another blast at him. He dodged again. "Will you quit moving?!"

"Only if you say 'please'!"

I rolled my eyes, taking aim. "Will you please stop moving?!" I fired again.

He smirked, and at the last second moved out of the way. "Nope."

"You're so annoying." I yelled, flying towards the ground. He backed away to allow me room to land. When I was safely on the ground, he still did nothing.

"Are you just gonna stand there?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Or are you going to attack me?"

Peter pulled off his mask. He had brown hair and brown eyes that were alight with excitement. He grinned stupidly. "Chloe, you really are something."

I punched his gut.

He doubled over, cracking a smile.

"Was that supposed to be funny?" I snapped, glaring.

"No," he straightened, still grinning. "It was a genuine compliment for a genuinely nice person. As a friend. No feelings otherwise."

He held out his right hand. I didn't move. He sighed. "Look, I'm trying to be diplomatic, here. It's what May would want." He stopped. "I mean, of course, assuming May knew about this. But she doesn't." He added quickly.

I looked at him; He was serious. I grasped his hand and shook it curtly.

We just stood there, staring at each other for a good ten seconds. Then his comm beeped. "Pete, come on. Don't be sweet on her." It was Tony.

Peter looked at me sheepishly, knowing I had heard his instructions. "Uh, sorry Sapphire." He grinned before shooting a web at me. Due to our close proximity, I barely had time to throw up a shield.

I smirked playfully. "Not a chance, Spider-Man."

I pushed my shield at him, the barrier crashing into him and knocking him off his feet. He crashed onto his butt with a mildly pained expression.

"Okay, if you wanna play it that way." I heard him mutter as he picked himself up. He pulled back on his mask and faced me.

We stared at each other, waiting for the other to make the first move; I decided that I would.

I turned invisible and flew upward. Peter looked around for any signs of me, glancing back at the spot where I had stood. I smirked and flew behind him, then sent a blast his way. It hit his back, sending him crashing forward.

"Hey, no fair!"

I materialized in front of him. "What's not fair?" I grinned innocently. "This?" I held a ball of swirling energy in my hand.

He gave me a sour face. "Yes." Peter grunted.

I smiled, closing my open palm on the ball. It disappeared. "Fair fight, then." I helped him up. "Hand to hand combat."

"No powers."Peter agreed. He grinned under his mask; I could tell.

We stood a meter apart, waiting.... And then there was pain flaring in my jaw.

I clutched my face, crouching. Peter pulled back his fist to strike again. I rolled to the side, sweeping my leg as I went. My foot caught around his ankle, sending him crashing. I got up while he recovered fairly quickly.

We looked at each other, and I made the first move. I dove to the right, hoping to distract him. It worked; I grabbed his shoulder with my left hand and swung upwards over him. I used my momentum to swing him along. As soon as he hit the concrete, he rolled to the side and ran around me.

I felt something wrap around my wrist. I looked down to see a lovely bracelet fashioned out of webbing. I growled at Peter. "You said no powers!"

"Yeah. You have powers." He shrugged innocently. "I don't. I use science."

He jerked the web sharply and I hung I felt my wrist fracture.

"Okay, all bets are off." I said, and sent a blast straight at his chest. When he flew back, he didn't get up. I could hear him groaning from a good ways away; At least he wasn't dead or anything, I mean, then we would have a problem.

I flew away before he could do anything else.
