"Every Single Person Has Darkness Within Them, Some Just Have More Than Others"

- - - -

Everyone was affected by the death of Midge Klump, some more than others.

Rosalie was devastated. She had lost a friend, one who seemed to slowly drift away from her.

Sweet Pea was devastated, though his reasons were different. He had to witness his girlfriend crying, blaming herself for the death. Rosalie thought she could've saved her.

She was wrong.

No one could've predicted the Black Hood's return.

No one could've predicted he'd kill Midge.

Rosalie walked through school, Sweet Pea to her right, Oscar to her left. The two boys had grown extra protective of the girl. They wanted to protect her, and they would, they'd protect her to the best of their ability, until their last breath if necessary.

"I can't believe we still have to be here" Sweet Pea mumbled as he looked around at the dull and gloomy faces. Everyone was miserable and with Midge's funeral fast approaching, everyone would only feel worse.

"We can't just skip school 'cause somebody died" Oscar replied.

Rosalie stopped walking and took a deep breath. She would never walk through the corridors with Midge again. She'd never see her friend, the one who helped her at the beginning of the year, the girl she didn't help in return.

Sweet Pea hit Oscar, before wrapping his arm around his girlfriend. "Ignore Ozzy, he's an ass." "I take offence to that" Oscar mumbled.

Rosalie shook her head. "I'm okay, I'll be okay." Sweet Pea nodded his head, knowing that in time she'd learn to adjust to life without her friend, it would take time, obviously, but she'd be okay.

They started to walk, only for Sheriff Keller to appear. "Miss Wilde, may I have a word?" "No, you can't, so back off" Oscar growled at the Sheriff. "I'm afraid I wasn't asking."

Rosalie turned to Oscar and Sweet Pea, smiling slightly. "It's fine. I'll be fine."

Sweet Pea frowned as he watched his girlfriend walk off with the Sheriff. "We're following them, right?" Oscar asked, causing his friend to nod his head. "Obviously."

The two boys watched unnoticed, as Rosalie entered the classroom, Sheriff Keller holding the door for her, shutting it behind him. "We wait out here until they're done" Sweet Pea mumbled as they stood outside the door.

"Take a seat" Sheriff Keller told Rosalie, who listened. He sat down opposite her.

It was silent as the two sat opposite each other. Rosalie was surprisingly the first one to speak, she wanted to get it over with, whatever he wanted. "Why am I here, Sheriff?" "I have to interview everyone involved with the musical, that includes you, Miss Wilde."

Rosalie scoffed, angered that he was questioning her so soon after the death of her friend. It was as if the Sheriff had no feelings, no remorse that the girl had lost a friend. He was being heartless in her opinion.

"I was friends with Midge, we were close friends. Do you really think I need this with her being gone?"

"Miss Wilde-" Rosalie cut him off. "This isn't acceptable. People loved Midge. I loved Midge! I loved her!" Rosalie couldn't control the tears that fell down her face. "I never even got the chance to say goodbye."
