Shit. That was all I could think about as I waited patiently in my apartment. It had been finished the day before, and I had moved back in. Any second, my mom was going to burst through that door. I hoped she couldn't just tell I was gay by looking at me.
My weird sounding doorbell rang then and I got up and answered it. I appeared cool and excited for my mom to be there, when really, I was freaking out and hoped she didn't ask to meet my friend I made over in London
"Alfred, the place is so clean, what happened to you when you came over here?"
"Aw, nothin' much. I kinda just wanna be able to move around more than I could in my old room... Where's Mattie and that other guy?"
"Oh they're already at the hotel, I just wanted to stop by and say hi and stuff, I really haven't seen you in a week, Alfie. Speaking of them, I should probably get there before things get out of hand."
I though I knew what she meant, but I couldn't resist asking, "Out of hand?"
"Oh, Gilbert has been very close with Matthew recently. Too close. I even found them sleeping shirtless in bed together, and you know exactly what I think about that kind of thing."
"You think they're gay with each other?"
"Yeah, and I honestly don't like it, and neither does God."
I gulped quietly in the back of my throat and struggled to keep my bewildered yet usual oblivious expression on my face. "Yeah, I see what you mean, mom. You should probably get over ther-"
My phone decided to ring just at that moment, and as happy as I was to see it was "Artie<3" I also made sure my mom didn't see the whole contact name.
"Oh, I'm sorry mom, I really need to take this."
She nodded and went out the door. "See ya tomorrow, Alfred!"
I nodded back and answered the call.
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"Do not call me babe, it's stupid and American."
"You don't like stupid American things?"
"No. Unless it's you."
I smiled wide and said, "Aww, stop being cute. Now why did you call?
Babe."
He sighed loudly in frustration and asked, "is your mum gone?"
"Yeah? Why?"
"She didn't ask about me?"
"Nope."
"Good, I never met her yet she scares me."
"She's really nice, just really... Homophobic. Don't worry, I was a little scared of her today too. She seems mega pissed about Gilbert and Mattie, though. I don't want her to find out that both of her sons are gay... She wouldn't like it."
"Can you get over here? I miss you, it's been two days."
"AWW, You just can't stop getting cuter, can you?"
"Oh come off it, you can be cute sometimes too, especially that little cowlick of yours."
I blushed lightly at what the hidden meaning could've been and said, "Shut up, Artie... Be over in 10."
