I sit on the top of the hub with Jordan, Claire, and Tommy. We are looking at the entrance to the fence.
"Are you sure their okay?" Claire asks for the hundredth time.
"I told Ethan that Hector was dead, when he wasn't," I say, and Claire sniffles.
Tommy says, "I said the same about Jo."
Then, I look back over to the fence and I see a group of people enter. One looks like they are in a wheel chair. I strain my eyes, and I see a mop of red hair. Maci. I can tell it's her. She is one of the only redheads in the city. Most of us have dark hair, but then there are those like Al and I who have blonde hair. I flunked biology, so I suck at all that genetic stuff.
"Maci," I say, and they all turn to me.
Claire gasps, and I look down at the group entering the fence.
"C'mon, that's them," Jordan says, and I look down the hole in the roof, where we came up, and the ladder fell down.
"Shit," I hear Tommy mutter behind me.
I turn. How are we going to get down to the ground by the time that they come to the-
"Zip line!" I hear Claire say, and she runs over to the edge.
Out of nowhere, she pulls out four harnesses. She hooks one up to the chord and then she looks at Tommy. It's like they are communicating in their minds. Well, obviously, they've both done it multiple times before. Claire tightens the straps, and then she pushes Tommy down the cord. I hear Jordan take in a breath, and Claire motions to me.
"What about you and Jordan?" I say, I'd really rather not go down that zip line.
"I know how to get myself in, and we are going to go down together." She says and winks at Jordan.
She helps me into the harness and I then she tightens it. "Just pull this handle when you see Tommy." She says. "Okay ready? One, Two!" She calls as she pushes me down the zip line.
"WHAT ABOUT THREE!!!!" I yell as I speed down the metal cord.
I feel like I am flying as I speed down the zip line. The buildings zoom past me and I spread my arms out like I am actually flying. I feel a smile growing on my face and I get closer to the ground. I see Tommy and he is yelling at me.
"The handle! PULL THE HANDLE!!" He yells.
I fumble around for the handle, and then finally I skid to a stop, seconds before I would have smashed into the wall there. I drop down and Tommy somehow sends the harness back up to Claire. Then after a few minutes I hear Jordan screaming and Claire yelling, but there is enjoyment in Claire's yells, unlike Jordan's, who are filled with terror.
Claire, who is somehow riding double with Jordan, pulls the handle, and they skid to a stop. Once they both hop down, we agree to run and try to meet up with everyone.

I see four people running towards us from the city, and I realize that I recognize them. Claire, Kevin, Tommy, and Jordan are running towards us. I see the smile on Claire's face fade as she sees Al, who is still sleeping, sitting in the wheelchair.
"What happened?" She and Kevin say at the same time.
Al's eyes flutter open and she smiles when she realizes what is going on. Claire runs over to Al and they start talking about everything that they missed. That's all they ever do, talk.
I smile as Tommy walks over to me, and surprisingly gives me a hug. Then, he goes over to Jenna and they start talking. I look at Jo, who is hugging Kevin tightly. She is talking to him, probably telling him all about what is really outside the fence.
I hear Al's laugh and I smile to myself. Even though she is now talking to Tommy, I am still happy that she is happy. I feel a hand on my shoulder, and Kevin is standing there. Surprisingly, he pulls me into a hug and I hug him back. After the quick bro hug, he smiles at me.
"I'm glad you're back, Hector," he says. I smile at him.
"Glad to see you too Kevin," I say.
God I know how much this probably means to him, saying he felt terrible for the whole almost killing me thing. I start to tell him about everything that happened.
"Hey Kev," I hear a sweet voice say from behind me. Jo is pushing Al in her wheelchair and Tommy is following behind them. I take a step back so there is room for Al, Jo, and Tommy.
Once Jo gets Al's chair into a good spot, she sits on Al's lap, and Al groans in pain.
"Hey, I'm not that fat," Jo says to Al.
Al tries to laugh, but I can tell she is actually in pain.
"Get off me Johanna!" Al yells.
"Not a chance Abert!!" Jo yells back, and Kevin and Tommy both give me a confused look.
Jo explains, or keeps Al from explaining, and Kevin and Tommy look even more confused than before. I look over at Jenna, Brian, Maci and Jordan. I smile as I notice that Brian has his hand on Maci's waist. Jordan is smiling too, and I can tell that he is happy. We are all finally happy. But most importantly, we are free. Al and I are finally free. No more worries about what she is, or what I am, and I love her. I am finally able to love Al, with no complications, and it feels damn amazing.

I smile as I talk to my friends, and I feel happy. I don't care what is going to happen, I know that I will have them, and that's all that matters. Before I can turn around and tell Hector the truth about me, there is an explosion in the distance. I look up, and see small objects being dropped from the sky, but they are not explosives being dropped, there is a purple gas leaking through the city. As I turn around to tell the others, one of the devices is dropped near us, and the purple gas comes out of it.
We run, someone picks me up and begins to carry me bridal style as they try to escape the gas, but it is no use. Another capsule is dropped, and whoever holds me falls. I try to see who is there, but the purple gas is too thick. I try to cover my mouth in attempt to filter the air, but it is fruitless. The mysterious air enters my lungs, and I begin to cough, then, everything turns black.
