"Al Eaton?" Brian and the stiff say in sync. They look at each other then the girl looks away, embarrassed.

"Yeah. So what?" I ask. I look at Hector, who has a confused look on his face.

"Are you in any way related to Marcus Eaton?" Jenna asks.

"Who?" Hector asks. His dark eyebrows are furrowed together. He's smart, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

"He's the leader of abnegation." I whisper to him.

"Oh my God," Brian says, a surprised look on his face. "Marcus was accused of beating his son. and then his son transferred-," he says but Jenna interrupts. This is getting annoying.

"He transferred to dauntless," she says.

"What's your father's name?" Brian asks.

"Four." I say. My dad can't be from abnegation. I know my mom was but she never ever talks about it.

"Four?" Brian laughs. "Like the number?"

"Exactly like the number." I say, as cooly as possible.

"What? Were One through Three taken?" Brian asks, getting a laugh from Jacob and Lani.

"Cut the crap!" I yell, and the whole hall silences. Jenna looks scared and the smiles are wiped off the rest of their faces.

"Sorry," I breathe out, annoyed.

"No you're not," Jacob says. everyone looking at him. "What? in candor, they teach us how to tell if someone is lying."

"Whatever," I say. "So whose house should we go to first?" I try to change the subject. I hate this project. l look at Hector then back at the group. "It can't be mine tonight, R has to babysit the twins."

"Ooh!" squeals Lani. "We could go to my house. My mom loves having people over. You can even help us pick some vegetables from the garden for dinner!"

"Great," Hector rolls his eyes. "Where should we meet?"

"How about we meet right in front if the school at 5:30?" Lani asks, with a huge smile on her face. I hate this project.

"Okay. Cool." Jacob says, trying to act cool to impress Lani. Before anyone else can say anything, the bell rings.

"See you guys then," Hector says, "Lets go Al."

"Byeeee! See you later!" Lani squeals as we turn around. I can hear the smile on her face. I hate this project.

The bell rings and Hector and I grab our bags and wait for Johanna, Claire, and Tommy.

I see them walking over with James, Eric's son, and Angie, Peter's daughter.

"I get to go to candor tonight. Yay!" Johanna says sarcastically.

"Well, at least you don't have to go to abnegation!" Claire says.

They start bickering, like all twins do. They are identical. Pretty, tall, tan skin, light brown hair, everything I wish I was, saying I'm the complete opposite. I'm short, pale, and blonde, almost identical to my mother. I have my fathers eyes though.

Johanna and Claire look like a perfect mix of Will and Christina. They have even the perfect mix of their eyes. Their eyes are the only thing different about them, except for their attitude. Claire has dark brown eyes, with a ring of light brown around her pupil. Johanna has light brown eyes with a ring of dark brown around her pupil.

"Well," Hector says, "Al and I have to go to amity, and guess what! We get to pick vegetables for dinner!" Hector says, his words dripping with sarcasm.

"So Al?" Tommy asks me as we sit down at our lunch tables, our trays filled. "Why'd you yell 'Cut the crap'?"

Everyone looks at me, "Well first the Brian kid was asking me about my dad cause my last name is Eaton and then they asked if I was related to Marcus Eaton," I say, taking a bite of my hamburger.

"Wait? the leader if abnegation?" Angie asks.

"Yeah. And they asked what my dad's name was and I said Four. Then someone said 'like the number?' and I said 'exactly like the number'. Then Brian said 'were one through three taken' then I yelled." I say, taken another bite of my burger.

"Hey Jo?" Claire asks. They look at each other.

"That's what I was thinking!", Johanna says.

"You guys are so annoying when you do that yanno?" Hector says taking a sip of his soda.

"What were you guys thinking?" I ask.

"That's what our mom said during her initiation. She said that to your dad. And your dad got really pissed." Jo laughs.

The rest of lunch consists of a bunch of talk about our groups. The bell rings and we throw away our food. I get up and wait for Hector, we have the same schedule, so we stick together.

"Hey Al?" he asks as we walk torwards our next class, science, my least favorite.

"Yeah?"

"Could your dad really be from abnegation?"

"I dunno. I mean he is like the most dauntless guy ever. I mean have you seen his tattoos?"

"Yeah. But the tattoos are on his back."

"So?" I ask, getting annoyed.

"If he was Marcus Eaton's kid, your dad could have gotten the tattoos to cover up the scars his dad made with the belt. I mean he was accused of beating his kid." Hector says. I stop and look at him. I hate this project.

"Are you seriously saying my dad was a STIFF!" I yell, causing everyone in the hallway to look at us.

I turn around and start walking away from Hector. He grabs my arm and turns me around. I look up at him because he towers over me. "where are you going Al?" he says.

"To the nurse, I have a headache," I lie. I feel fine. I just want to go home.

"I'll take you, Al." Hector say.

"No. I'm fine. Just tell Mr. Kim I'm in the nurses office." I say.

"'K." Hector says. "Feel better. "

"Thanks. I'll see you later."

"Bye Al."
