The next morning Lilli woke up with a feeling of hope. Maybe Helen is right. Maybe I am going to run into them. I mean, hey, a girl can dream can’t she? Lilli and her family made their way to the airport.
“Bella, hold my hand. I don’t want you to get lost.” Lilli motioned for her little siter to grab her hand.
“Lilli! I am eleven! I don’t need to hold your hand!” Lilli grabbed her sister’s hand and flashed her a cheesy smile.
“Hey Bell, what if we run into the boys while we’re here.” Lilli said a little to hopeful and she was putting her carry on bag onto the security check thing.
“Lilli, I highly doubt that’s going to happen. I mean, come one, why would One Direction be at the Nashville airport?” Isabella claimed
“Girls! Come on, we have to get to Gate C,” their dad said.
“Do you have everything?” their mom asked.
“Yes mom! For the last time, we have everything!” Lilli and Isabella exclaimed simultaneously. As her family started walking off Lilli bent down to pick up her bags. When she stood she ran into a brick wall that knocked her to the ground. Wait, no. It was a boy who seemed to be running back to get something that he’d left at the security check. He’d knocked her phone and book out of her hands.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you!” Lilli apologized while frantically searching for her phone and book. Before she could get them herself, the boy had already snatched them up.
“No, miss, I’m sorry. I should have been more careful.” A boy with a thick British accent said. He stuck his hand out to help her back up. She took his hand still not looking up at him, but there was something about that voice that sounded familiar.
“Thank you,” she said, “and I’m really sorry again.” She looked up smiling. When she looked up she immediately realized who she had been talking to. Butterflies filled her stomach and she could feel her cheeks getting warm. What am I going to do? Just stand here and look stupid? No! I can’t! Oh gosh, Lilli do not fangirl. Do not fangirl. Act calm.
“Uhmm, hi,” Harry blurted.
“Hi. I’m Lilli.”
“I’m Harry. Harry Styles.”
“Well, Mr. Styles, it’s very nice to meet you and I’m terribly sorry for running into you.” She smiled at him and he flashed her his beautiful crooked grin.
“No, I’m sorry. I didn’t expect to run into such a beautiful girl.” He looked at the ground and blushed. He regained his confidence and stated, “but, I’m glad I did. Maybe it was fate that I left my phone over here.” Lilli blushed. Did Harry Styles just call me beautiful? This can’t be happening.
“Well, th-thank you very much. I-i really appreciate it. Sorry, I’m a little flushed. I wasn’t expecting to run into you here, literally.”
“No, it’s fine love. You are actually the first fan I’ve run into and actually been able to talk to without her freaking out and asking for an autograph.”
“Oh wait, I forgot. Can I have an autograph?” Lilli winked. Harry laughed his cheeky laugh.
“I can totally be myself around you!” Harry told her.
“Oh! Wow, I feel honored. I’m glad tou can be yourself around me. That’s what I would’ve wanted. I’m not one to freak out. I’ve always seen you as Harry Styles, a really sweet boy with a great personality. Someone I’d just want to hang out with and just talk to. I’ve never really seen you as a celebrity.” Harry’s green eyes sparkled with Lilli’s every word. He looked her straight in the eye taking in every word. He blushed deeply and smiled at her, showing off his beautiful dimples. “You’re blessed with what you have but you’re still just a normal guy. I’m not going to, ya know, fawn over you. Although, I do think you’re pretty cute.” Lilli said staring intently at the ground. Harry chuckled to himself.
“It means a lot that you like me for me and not for what I do. Oh, and you’re not so bad looking yourself,” Harry winked.
Lilli smiled and suddenly realized her family was no where in sight, “Uh, I should probably get going. My family is already way ahead and they’re probably wondering where I am. It was really nice to meet you.” As she started to walk away she felt Harry grab at her wrist.
“Wait, I need some help finding my phone.” Harry said cheekily.
“Okay then, I guess they won’t mind. Where did you leave it?”
“Well I guess I dropped it when I was coming out of security check and trying to put it in my pocket. Would you mind walking over here with me? Actually, would you mind calling it? Maybe we could hear it ringing.”
“Yeah totally. I did say I was going to help you find it didn’t I?” Lilli joked as she pulled her phone out and handing it to Harry. He looked at her and playfully mimicked her as he punched in his number on the keypad.
Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring.
“Over there! I see something lighting up on the security ladies desk!” Lilli exclaimed.
“Excuse me miss but did you find a black iPhone over here?” Harry politely asked the security lady.
“Yes, actually. We did. Someone just turned it in. You’re lucky.”
“Oh thank you do much Miss! You saved my life!” harry exclaimed gratefully.
“You’re very welcome. You’re very polite. Young lady, you’re one lucky girl to have such a polite boyfriend. Hang on to him and don’t let him go.” She said.
Lilli and Harry faced each other in an awkward manner eyeing each other.
Lilli spoke up, “Thank you but he isn’t my boyfriend. We actually just met each other.”
“Oh! I am so sorry! That’s terribly awkward. You two do make a cute couple though. You’re eyes shine every time you look at one another.”
“Thank again,” Harry yelled as the yutrned away awkwardly trying to avoid each other’s gaze.
“So… we found your phone. I’m really glad I got to meet you and I hope to see you again.” Lilli sadly said because she knew deep down they would probably never see each other again. They awkwardly hugged one another.
“Bye…” Harry murmured.
