Just the Way You Are

Part Fifteen:

-TWO MONTHS LATER-

"Hey, Mr. Robert. Can I talk to you for a minute?" Harry asked as Robert sat things down on the kitchen table.

"Sure thing. Let's go outside and chat. By the way, call me Robert,," Robert laughed as he shook Harry's hand. Lilli eyed Harry suspiciously but he just smiled at her so she went to help her mom in the kitchen. They were having a nice, family dinner tonight.

"Well, Mr. Soza...I mean Robert," Robert could tell Harry was nervous, "you know Lilli and I have been dating for two years now and you know I love her very much and would do absolutely anything for her. I mean ,she showed me to the Lord. She makes me want to be a better person for Him. Well sir, what I'm trying to say is I don't ever want to lose her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her. So, may I have your permission to make her mine forever? May I have your permission to ask her to be my wide? I promise I will take car of her, protect her, pray with her, and, of course, be the man she needs me to be. She means everything to me," Harry's voice cracked on the last word.

Robert was taking everything in and replied, "Son, you've just made me the happiest man on the planet. I've seen how you've changed and become a better man. I've seen how it's impacted so many aspects of your life, including your music. You stay true to what you say and you line everything up with Him. I know you will be a wonderful husband to me Lilli. There's no one else in this world I'd want to give my blessing too. Welcome to the family." Robert stood and shook Harry's hand pulling him into a huge embrace, or as guys call it, a man hug.

"You're becoming a great young man. I know you'll care and protect my baby. You'll always have my blessing. You don't have to rush it," Robert said looking Harry in the eyes. Harry was grinning ear to ear.

"Thank you sir. You're truly a role model. I pray that my marriage to Lilli is as amazing as yours."

"Let me pray with you," Robert said as he placed his hand on Harry's shoulder. He prayed that Harry be filled with wisdom and that He would protect him from any temptations. He thanked God for bringing Harry into their lives and said Amen.

As he stood up, Robert patter Harry on the back and pulled him in for another 'man hug.' They walked back inside the house smiling. Lilli and her mom eyed them suspiciously.

"Robert was just showing me his amazing grilling skills," Harry said.

"Yeah, thought I'd give Harry a few tips and tricks of mine," Robert said patting Harry on the back.

"He's a great cook," Harry grinned. The girls shrugged their shoulders and laughed. They knew their boys all too well. They knew they'd find out eventually the truth so they just played along.

"Hey Bells," Harry said as he plopped down next to Bella on the couch, "what's up?"

"Oh nothing. Just...chilling.," Bella faked a smile and Harry could tell something was wrong. Bella was the little sister Harry never had.

"Nope, you know that doesn't work on me. Now, c'mon, tell me what's really up," Harry said as he put his arm around the couch behind Bella and looked down at her waiting for an answer.

"Well," Bella let out a deep sigh, "I just don't want Lilli to go to college. I'll miss her too much," Bella hung her head while Harry smiled at the sweetness of their relationship.

Harry pulled Bella into a hug to reassure her everything would be okay, "hey now, she hasn't left yet. Plus, she's taking a year off. Remember? I know for a fact she'll come visit you often. And she'll probably even let you come stay with her at college. Hey! And when she does go off to college I'll come around and take you to some of the concerts so you can hang out with Lottie and Fizz. Deal?" Harry smiled and patted Isabella on the back.

At this Bella's head shot up. She gave Harry a huge hug and couldn't stop smiling. Bella had become quite close with Lottie and Fizz. She hadn't seen them in forever and she missed the, a lot. They talked on Skype and Twitter a lot but it wasn't the same.

"You're the best, Harry! Thank you! Thank you!"

Harry smiled down at her, "of course! Anytime!"

Lilli had overheard the whole conversation and had been eyeing the two on the couch. She loved watching Harry interact with Bella.

Lilli's mom whispered in her ear, "you're one lucky girl, sweetheart."

"I know I am," she whispered, smiling back.

She dropped the knife she was using to cut the vegetable on the counter and walked into the living room where Harry was now sitting alone. She walked behind the couch and wrapped her arms around him from behind. She kissed him on the head. He looked up behind him and smiled. Lilli cupped his face in her hands and gave him a long kiss on the lips. It was soft and sweet.

Harry smiled into the kiss, "what was that for?"

"Just being you," She smiled and kissed again. Then went back into the kitchen to help her mother finish diner.

"Mr. Merritt," Niall said.

"Son, call me Paul." Helen's dad said.

Niall and Paul had gone out for lunch while Helen ran some errands with her mom.

"Okay, Paul, well ya know I love your daughter very much and you know that I would do absolutely anything for her. I mean, she's made me a better person and..."

Paul cut Niall off before he could finish, "Niall, son," Pual said grinning, "of course you have my blessing. I wouldn't want my daughter to marry any other man. You will always have my permission.

"Thank you so much but how did you know that I was asking for your blessing?"

"Niall, you've have to remember I was a young man once too and I was in your shoes," Paul said laughing.

Niall smiled and said, "thanks again. I'll be the man she needs me to be."

"I know you will. Now let's eat. I'm starved."

"Me too!" Niall agreed and dug in. They both laughed. It was a great lunch and all around a great day.
