CHAPTER 6: I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE. IN THE TARDIS

Side note: Aranwen is pronounced (Are- On - When) Just to clarify! P.S. I wrote this at 0:01 so sorry if this is total crap!

I woke up slowly and sat up, stretching my arms and stifled a yawn. I blinked my eyes open and slowly remembered where I was. The unfamiliar Torchwood coroner's office expanded around me. I sighed and slowly stood up, my sheet still draped around my shoulders. Suddenly everything came rushing back like a bad dream. I sighed heavily. Truthfully this was all so surreal and frighting. If I really was a Timelady/Weeping Angel, then what the hell did that even mean? Suddenly a familiar voice broke my dark stream of thoughts.

"G'morning." I whirled around to see Jack standing leaned against the door frame. He was dressed in his usual light blue dress shirt and tan slacks but his suspenders hung at his sides. His hair brown hair was combed through and he looked handsome as always.

"Hey Jack." I yawned. I glanced around. "What time is it?" He flicked up his wrist to look at his watch. I combed through my hair with my fingers.

"Four." He stated.

"Four?"

"In the morning." He stated, slowly walking down the steps.

"Bloody hell..." I grumbled. Jack laughed, as he made his way down the stairs, his shoes clicking on the cold metal.

"When does the team get here?" I asked.

"Around seven, six thirty for Tosh." He said. I smiled, of course Tosh would be early.

"We have ages then." I commented, yawning again. "Anything planned?" I asked. Jack shook his head.

"Not particularly." He said, pulling a suspender up over his shoulder. I let my head roll back half from exhaustion and partially from the boredom that would ensue.

"What usually happens around here?" I asked, head still rolled back.

"Well, usually we catch aliens. As cliche as that sounds." He said, mulling over his own words.

"Hungry? Jack asked with a grin. I shook my head.

"I usually don't wake up for another five hours, let alone eat!" I exclaimed. I pulled a shirt on over my camisole. and shed the blanket as I changed my trousers. I didn't even care that Jack was standing right there. He watched me with slight surprise on his face. I rolled my eyes.

"Don't act surprised, Harkness." I laughed. He grinned.

"Someone's in a better mood today." He said. I nodded.

"I feel better." I said as I brushed past him and bounded up the stairs. Then I froze, my blood turning to ice. Spray painted in bright red across one of the glass walls were the words:

'TIME ANGEL.'

I felt sick to my stomach.

"Jack." I squeaked. I felt his hand on my waist and I jumped at his touch. Something was happening here- yes other than my being an alien, and me being in a place smack in the middle of Cardiff that hunts aliens. And the fact that I fell a 1960's police telephone box through time and space.

"Est." He replied. I turned to him.

"Was anyone here?" I asked. He shook his head.

"No one could get past security, let alone get in and out that quickly."

"What does it mean?" I asked. "I've seen it before. In the TARDIS. That, and 'BAD WOLF.'" Jack froze.

"BAD WOLF?" He asked. I nodded slowly, curious about his reaction.

"What does that mean?" I asked.

"Well- It relates to a friend. Let's leave it at that." He said. What did that mean?

"So what, we just ignore it?" I asked suspiciously.

"That would be best for now. I'm sure if this is related to 'BAD WOLF' then it will come into play later in your time-stream. Well, at least it means you'll survive." He said with a slight smile. I stiffened.

"Survive what?" I hissed.

"I guess we'll find out."

"Is this what happened to this friend of yours?" I asked, more harshly than I had intended. I almost winced at my own tone of voice.

"Something like this." He answered distantly.

There was a pause. I looked up at the red lettering that had been scrawled across the glass. It was following me! I felt a slight panic begin to creep over me.

"Calm down I'm sure everything will be fine." He said, turning me around to face him once more. Slowly I calmed myself, the whole while looking right at Jack. Suddenly his demeanor changed and he slowly began to smile.

"What's this?" He asked, pointing to my nose. I tried to look down at my nose instinctively. Then I realized what he was looking at.

"What? Never seen a septum piercing before?" I asked, trying to play it off cooly. Jack smiled wider, if that was even possible.

"Edgy." He commented. "Kind of out of character for you though."

"And you would know all about my character, would you?" I shot back coyly. He smirked.

"Yes." I rolled my eyes playfully. I flipped the piercing back up.

"There. Gone." I said, holding my hands up as if exibiting a magic trick. Jack laughed lightly.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go do something." He said, stepping away. Then suddenly a draft picked up and papers began to flutter and then fly away all together. a strange sound slowly began to echo through the metallic base that was Torchwood.

I feel like filler chapters are needed to develop character though. I just started writing my Sherlock fanfic and I finished chapter one! It should be up once I finish 'RED' which had 23 chapters left! On another note: two more fans and I'll have forty! Thanks for all the support on this story! I love you all!
