CHAPTER 12: BARCELONA
"Barcelona!" The Doctor exclaimed, throwing his arms up for a moment before continuing his little dance around the console.
"Barcelona?" Amy echoed to question.
"Barcelona!" He exclaimed once more, absorbed in toying with gears on the TARDIS console.
"Barcelona?" Rory, Amy, and I all echoed now.
The Doctor over at all of us, grinning crookedly as he paused to fix his bow-tie.
"It's a planet! I think we could all use a break! A little vacation!" He bounced slightly, clearly the most excited about this out of all of us.
"Isn't that a city in Spain or something?" Rory questioned.
"Noooo. No, my dear confused Rory." The Doctor bounded over to pinch Rory's cheeks. "Barcelona! is a planet! The dogs have no noses! How brilliant is that?" He grinned before returning to the console.
"How exactly is that relaxing?" Amy questioned, resting her hands on her hips.
"Get a break from dog noses apparently." I chimed in. The Doctor chuckled.
"Well that too! But mostly relaxing because it is the epitome of vacation planets." He sighed dreamily.
"Doctor are you sure you're alright?" Rory asked.
"He just needs a vacation." Amy said. I nodded in concurrence, leaned against the railing with my arms folded over my chest.
"Precisely, Pond!" He gave a short laugh and pulled a lever, causing the TARDIS to lurch and sending all us companions flying as he stayed rooted by the console, clearly too excited about Barcelona to notice his friends sliding across the floor like rogue marbles.
"Off to the closet!" He shooed us, still not noticing how we were strewn across the railing.
~oOo~
The Doctor was the first to burst through the TARDIS doors out to Barcelona. He wore a T-Shirt and swim shorts, a lei around his neck and sunglasses perched on his nose.
Amy was the second out, opting for a maroon tank top and light blue shorts, red converse and sunglasses as well.
I followed, wearing a grey and white pinstriped tank top, torn jean shorts and dark blue toms.
Rory was the last out of the TARDIS, bounding out in khaki shorts and a grey t-shirt, flip flops on his feet.
"Barcelona!" The Doctor spread his arms to present the busy street that spread before us. It looked as if the buildings were all made of tan bricks, ivy growing from the crevices of the buildings and some sprouting from the cobblestone road and the edges of the slate sidewalk. The sky was bright, one small sun and a large moon hung lazily in the sky, spilling gold light over the humanoid inhabitants. The street looked much like something you'd see in Paris as far as storefronts went, small cafes squeezed in every spare space. The only thing that set the inhabitants of Barcelona apart from London, or Earth, was the hair color. Most of them had tan, dark honey skin. They hair was every color except brown and blond. Some had green hair, others had purple, even blue.
"This, is amazing." Amy slid the sunglasses down her nose to view the street in it's full glory.
"...You can say that again." I whispered breathlessly. Rory just whistled lowly.
"Oh a fez!" The Doctor pointed out a man in a fez and quickly took off after him.
"Doctor!" I called after him.
