CHAPTER 8: CRASH LANDING
"So, Aranwen-"
"Louna. We've been over this ten times." I cut him off.
"Fine, Louna, Jack wasn't very clear about why I have to take you with me." The Doctor said. His analytical gaze fell on me as he peered over his glasses. My eyes dropped to the floor. This Doctor was so different from his future self. So quizzical and much more serious then the bow-tie clad Doctor I knew. How a man be the same and yet do different?
"Erm- well..." I struggled to find something to say. The Doctor's gaze never wavered. Rose watched from the other side of the console nervously. Her blond hair fell around her face as she tried to avoid watching us.
"Oh- look at that! Do some redecorating then?" I asked as I hopped over to one of the coral-like columns. If I hadn't seen the TARDIS from the outside, I would have never guessed it was the same blue box I had fallen into not a week ago. And fallen out of, mind you.
"Louna." The Doctor warned. I stopped and dropped my shoulders.
"Look Doctor, I wish I could tell you more. I really do. It's just that I wouldn't want to rip a hole in the space-time continuum or anything by screwing up the time-stream or whatever." I tried to suppress a proud smile. That sounded pretty smart. Well, it was sufficient. The Doctor merely blinked. I sighed, I wasn't getting through to him.
"Can you please just trust me on this? This is weird for me too." I said, running a hand down the column.
"The trouble is, Jack just forced a strange girl onto the TARDIS who he says dropped from the rift and hardly knows anything about. And you can hardly trust Jack. So I don't think I can just trust you." The Doctor seethed. I winced at his tone.
"Just drop me off in 2013 and all will be well." I sighed. The Doctor tucked his hands into his coat-pockets, his glare never wavering.
"Doctor?" Rose spoke up, her brow furrowed as she walked over to us. "I don't know what you think she's going to do, but I think you should trust her." Rose shot a supportive glance in my direction. I just stared back dumbly, surprised at what she had just said. The Doctor's brow furrowed as he looked from me to Rose and back again.
"Rose-" He began.
"No, Doctor. Please just do what she says, no need to be harsh about this. If Jack trusts her, then so do I." Rose stated defiantly. The Doctor sighed as he mulled over Rose's words.
"Oh, Alright." He said finally, both mine and Rose's faces lit up with excitement. "Welcome aboard the TARDIS, Louna." The Doctor smiled at me. "Where do you need to go then?" He asked. I grinned almost manically.
"Somewhere in Bath around 2013 would be nice." I said. The Doctor nodded as he punched in coordinates.
"Well, then Rose, Louna- Allons-y!" He yelled as the TARDIS lurched forward. Things seemed to be going smoothly, then suddenly the TARDIS was tossed roughly to the right.
"Bloody hell!" I exclaimed as I struggled to my feet. The TARDIS continued to fling about.
"Doctor, what's happening?" Rose asked worriedly as she gripped one of the coral-like columns. The Doctor gripped his hair in frustration.
"We've been spatially displaced." The Doctor growled as he flipped controls. Déjà vu. This was all too familiar, maybe I was just bad luck when it came to time travel. I held to the railing as we slid around. The Doctor flipped a series of blue switches and blue light cropped up.
"Blue stabilizers!" He exclaimed. "I didn't think those actually worked..." He trailed off. The TARDIS slowly stopped lurching and the flight path evened out.
"Where will we end up?" Rose asked. The Doctor clicked his tongue before answering.
"Well-" He began. "I don't know. But where's the fun in knowing, eh?" He asked, trying to convince himself that he didn't care where they would end up. Well... As long as it wasn't dangerous.
Rose forced a smile as she tried to give off the impression that she agreed with him. It wasn't working. And I didn't blame her, I did want to know when it came to where we would end up in the universe. What if we ended up on the space ship of some killer alien?
"Look we're materializing!" The Doctor exclaimed. And we were. I heard the familiar sound of grinding, wheezing metal.
VWORP VWORP VWORP VWORP - THUD
The Doctor's gaze passed between Rose and I.
"Well then. Let's survey our surroundings, shall we?" He asked timidly. "Molto Bene!" He exclaimed as he went for the door. Within seconds Rose and I had followed in pursuit of the Timelord.
"Doctor! wait up!" I yelled after him as I followed Rose out of the TARDIS. I stooped abruptly as I stepped out of the TARDIS. Rose stood frozen in front of me as her gaze swept over her surroundings.
"Would you look at that." The Doctor said quite darkly. I just looked to him, puzzled.
We stood in a large open metal dome. The top half was made of what looked like glass, and outside you could see all of space drifting past. The room was massive and palatial. It was like a spacey Château. It was furnished beautifully with what could have been mistaken for Earth furniture. But this was not Earth. And we were not in the presence of humans. The room was barren of life other than our own, so I assumed that the life forms were elsewhere.
"Oh yes." The Doctor said with an eerie tone. "This furniture used to be the Prime Minister's" Rose looked at him curiously.
"Then why would the Prime Minister's furniture be in space?" I asked.
"Rose, there's a planet in the Mutter's spiral. Took you ages to learn how to pronounce it. Started with an 'R.'" The Doctor said, as if he hadn't heard my question. Rose's eyes grew wide with realization.
"Raxacoricofallapatorius." She stated.
"Oh yes. The Slitheen are back."

Thanks for reading! Sorry it took me a bit to update! I just watched the newest episode of Doctor Who. That was one of the saddest endings ever! It was almost as bad as when Rose left... Or Donna... But at least they got to be together. But Rory's poor dad will never know he's a grandfather or that his son will never come home! The angst!
