CHAPTER TWO: BAD WOLF
I jolted awake, panting from the grip of nightmares. I was a baby and I was lost from my parents. Well, I assumed they were my parents. Then, I was alone on a barren landscape that had been carved out by war. I was alone in the blazing red grass that surrounded my cot. Suddenly the scene shifted and I was surrounded by statues, they were all around me, staring at me, closing in, and just before they reached for me, I woke up.
I then remembered the necklace, it was sitting on the mantle of the fireplace, in which the fire was still blazing. I breathed out a long sigh and sat up, remembering where I was. I still couldn't believe it. Maybe I was still unconscious, or I had slipped into a coma and was now in a hospital. I didn't care if I was in a coma, I liked this new place. Walking to the bathroom, I found makeup and a mirror. Even though the clock said it was only midnight, I felt like I should put makeup on so I did. I left the bathroom, still in my pyjamas, and cautiously snuck out of my room. Two hallways extended in either direction. I walked to the hallway on my right and kept going and going.
"Okay magic blue box, take me somewhere." I whispered to myself, eyes squeezed shut tightly. I opened them and found myself in front of a door, the plaque was smudged and I couldn't read it except for the first initial of each word, 'R' 'M' 'T.' I opened the door and it squeaked open on rusty hinges. Closing the door behind me, I found myself in a fairly modern room, the only thing that stood out was a black poster with luminous white lettering that read, 'BAD WOLF', in messy scrawl. Just as I had read the lettering the words shifted and created a new word, 'TIME ANGEL.' I stared at the words, wondering if what I had seen was a hallucination or not. I shook my head and blinked a few times, my bare feet rooted to the carpet.
"Time Angel." I said aloud. As soon as I had every word in the room changed to 'TIME ANGEL.' Whirling around, I scanned everything with disbelieving eyes. Everywhere, the word was plastered all over the room in every font.
"What's a 'Time Angel?'" I asked myself, growing frustrated. This whole thing was maddening! I was already mentally unstable to begin with. My whole life I had seen statues move glowing auras around people. My aunt had sent me to countless psychiatrists and every visit ended miserably. Then I "made that man disappear" in the alleyway and now I know that I must really be losing it. Now what? Magic letters? Great. Just bloody brilliant. I raked my hands through my hair, nails scraping my scalp. I was losing it. Eyes darting all over the room, my pulse quickened. I dashed from the room and slammed the door behind me. Then. On the hallway wall across from the room were the words 'BAD WOLF' spray painted in white on top, and below it was 'TIME ANGEL' spray painted in vibrant red. I sank down against the door, letting out a defeated moan.
I pulled the necklace from under the collar of my shirt and fingered the cold metal of the small fob watch. It was soothing just to have it near me. Next to the watch was the broken remains of what was the black pendant. I pressed the heels of my hands into my eyes and let out a slow, steady sigh to regain a normal heart-rate. Get it together Louna, I told myself. With another shaky breath I finally stood, leaning all my weight on the wall. I walked down the hallway for what seemed like an eternity, and then I saw a set of descending stairs at the end. Once I stood at the top I found myself back in the control room. I could barely walk and I felt dizzy. I made it down the stairs just in time to see that the Doctor was there, circling the control panel.
"Louna?" He asked as he began to approach me. I grasped the railing for support.
"Doctor..." My reply was a barely audible whisper, and then I collapsed to the ground in a dead faint.

I woke up slowly and saw The Doctor's face hovering over mine.
"Ergh..." I tried to speak but my lips failed me. The Doctor brushed my grey fringe out of my eyes.
"Give it a second." he said, helping me to sit up.
"What happened?" I asked, squinting against the light. My head was pounding in protest to any movement I made. I slowly stood up and the Doctor held his arms out cautiously.
"You passed out." He stated. Suddenly all the memories of my experience in that room came flooding back and my legs gave out again.
"whoa!" The Doctor exclaimed, catching me around the waist. "Let's get you back to your room. You need some rest." I just nodded in agreement. He helped me along down the long hallway until we reached the door of my bedroom.
"Here we are." He said as he swung the door open and helped me over to my bed. I flopped down onto the duvet. The Doctor gave an approving smile and turned for the door again.
"Wait." I said quietly. He turned around on his heels, gazing at me expectantly. "Can you stay?" I asked. He paused for a moment.
"I guess it couldn't hurt." He smiled and walked back over and sat at the foot of the bed and I layed back down. There was a long moment of comfortable silence where I began to drift off.
"So Aranwen?" He asked. I groaned at the sound of that name.
"Louna." I corrected him.
"I quite like Aranwen. Welsh, isn't it?" He rambled. "Can I call you Aranwen?"
"No."
"It's a lovely name!"
"No, Doctor." I huffed. He sighed, thinking.
"Can I call you both? What are all your names?"
"Est, Louna, and when I'm in trouble, Aranwen." I said, staring up at the silks and toole strung above the bed.
"Can I call you all three?"
"No." I said sternly. He just rolled his head over so he was facing me with a pleading expression.
"Yeah, fine. Whatever." I gave in. He gave a satisfied smirk.
"So, Louna?"
"Hm?"
"When you said you were running from yourself. Can you explain what you meant?" He asked, his playful tone changed to a more serious one. I sucked in a deep breath.
"Doctor. I just let you call me 'Aranwen.' Isn't that enough for tonight?" I asked, yawning. He frowned slightly.
"For tonight I guess." He sighed. He layed back on the bed and laced his fingers behind his head. He looked up at me with a childish grin.
"Thank you." I said, watching his green eyes dart around the room.
"For what?" He asked, his gaze rested on my again.
"everything." I sighed and snuggled back down under the covers. "I'll answer any question you want tomorrow."
"Sounds fantastic! Now get some rest, Raven!"
"Oh great, another name?" I sighed playfully. The Doctor just smirked in reply.
"G'night." I breathed.
