CHAPTER 11: SOLEMN GOODBYES
The Doctor stayed in the door frame with Rose beside him as Silion and I stood in the snow of the Ood Sphere.
"Aren't you coming...?" I asked quietly.
"I'm afraid this is where our journey together ends. At least for now."
"You're just leaving me here?"
"Louna, just for a moment," He smiled softly, Rose tearing up a bit behind him. "The Ood can signal my future self and you'll be back with everyone you're familiar with."
"Doctor..." That was all I could say, finding myself at an utter loss for words.
"Hey, mate," Rose stepped towards me, smiling sadly. "Look if you ever happen to be in London just find Jackie Tyler and tell her Rose says hi, alright?" Rose sniffed and pulled me into a tight embrace. I hugged her back just as tightly, it was strange how I felt like I known her for a life time after all we'd been through together.
"And if you find yourself in Bath, just stop by and see if I'm in, yeah?"
"Of course!" She laughed softly and pulled away again. "I'll miss you."
"I'll miss you too, Rose." I smiled at her and touched her shoulder lightly as a final goodbye. She nodded and stepped back into the TARDIS.
"Well, Doctor," I smiled and gave him a small salute.
"Oh none of that," He said and pulled me into a firm hug. "I'll be right back." He pulled away and winked before stepping into the TARDIS again. I watched as the door closed and slowly that blue box faded away, the sound of wheezing, grinding metal echoing through the ice and snow covered landscape.
I sighed heavily and gathered myself before turning around to face Silion.
"Are you alright, Madame?"
I nodded and smiled sadly. "Quite alright, good friend. Think we can get up there and phone home?" I asked, quite pleased with how appropriate that reference was.
"Certainly, Miss." Silion said, bowing slightly before turning towards the civilization in the distance and beginning towards it. I took a deep breath and started after him, tightening my scarf to guard against the frigid wind. It hadn't even been that long but dammit I missed that Doctor and Rose. The more I thought about it the more it brought me down. I couldn't help but feel that that had been the last time I would see Rose, especially since the Doctor I knew didn't have a Rose, he had an Amy and a Rory. I liked them too, i just didn't feel as close to them all the sudden.
I would definitely miss Rose and that version of the Doctor, but honestly with the way things seemed to work around here I wouldn't let myself believe anything to be set in stone, as they say.
I continued to trudge along after Silion who continued on in the same sure gait, holding the translation orb still and hardly wavering.
"How long exactly will this take?"
"Patience, Madame."
"Alright, alright. I won't ask again." I sighed heavily and ran a bit to catch up to my Ood friend.
The only things I could think about was one, how bloody cold I was, and two, how happy I would be to hear the sound of the TARDIS materialising.
It is strange how quickly your life can change. One minute you're of age to actually move out, and planning on doing so, and the next you're in a phone box with a bow tie wearing alien and his friends.
As weird as it was, It felt much more like home than living with Annette ever had. there was something strange about her. She had short dark hair which she had worn in finger curls, she always had on matte crimson lipstick which she applied more in the shape of doll lips than her natural lips. She had such hollow, dark brown eyes which held a constant sadness. It was strange to me, she was so cold, yet there was something about her than willed me to pity her in a way.
I shook my head. That was my past, and thinking about the past never helped anyone. I resolved to study how my feet broke through the ice glaze over the powdery snow with every step. The satisfying crunch of our steps resonated through the hills of stone and ice and fine white powder.
Alright so maybe this place wasn't so bad. I slowly breathed in the crisp air. It was cold, I'll give it that. But the landscape was alien and familiar at the same time, it had such a strange beauty.
"We've arrived, Madame." Silion noted aloud.
"Impeccable timing," I sighed, just as I start to admire the alien planet, it's time to plan my departure. But Silion was right, we had arrived. I stared up at the spires of metal towers that extended up into the blue skies, silhouetted against twin suns. I whistled lowly and dropped my gaze once more to Silion. Behind him had appeared three robed, Oods who held not translator Orbs, but what appeared to be... brains? A sort of umbilical chord trailed from the tentical 'beard' of sorts, to the small brain in their hands. There was a long silence where I did nothing but stare at the lot of them while they appeared to have some silent conversation.
"The Doctor has been notified, Madame." Silion said at last, breaking the silence. I heaved a sigh of relief.
"Well, it is much appreciated." I said, bowing slightly as I had seen Silion do, trying to show some form of respect. The robed Oods blinked contently before turning to enter the builing, Silion following, and myself after that.
"Allons-y" I said to myself.
The inside of the building was palatial and void of furniture. All that could be seen was an Ood or two passing every now and again, some in robes with the hand-held brain, others in blue suits with the translator orb like Silion.
Suddenly that mechanical whirring echoed through the spires of the Ood Monastery of sorts.
VWORP VWORP VWORP THUD
I turned around and saw none other than the TARDIS. Right away the door flew open and out popped the Doctor, slightly bow-legged as usual, floppy hair just as I'd remembered. He smiled brightly and glanced around.
"Ood Sphere," He turned to me, grinning and tugging at his bow-tie. "I told you I'd be right back!"

Hope you enjoyed! I realised how much I miss the Tenth Doctor and Rose. Since there are only nine chapters left of this I'll get that done and start the spin-off before I release the sequel! The Spin-Off focuses around Rose after she's in her parallel world. It will be very short but I'm very excited! Thanks for reading!
