CHAPTER 10: POWER TO THE OOD

"Doctor," The man said.

"Doctor!" Rose's startled cry followed the larger man's. The Doctor raised an eyebrow as he strolled into the large room, followed by Silion and I.

"I believe when we last met you killed my beloved sister," The man spoke.

"Careful of what you say there, now I know who you are," The Doctor smirked, "Korst Slitheen."

"I do believe the that rather nosy stone-haired girl was first to inform you of just who exactly I was, Doctor. That's a new face. Wouldn't have known it was you if it weren't for all the damned shouting."

The Doctor's knuckles were white with his grip on the sonic, some ancient rage burning in his eyes. Something I had just glimpsed before.

"What is your grandiose plan exactly?" The Doctor said after a while of painful silence.

"I will finish our work, Doctor. Destroy the Earth's inhabitants, and take it for the Slitheen. Can't you just see it now? A planet all our own, our family rising to immortal glory." Kort spat out his words, skin so tight I feared his face may split. Rose struggled under the pudgy man's tightening grip.

"Well," began the Doctor, "I am afraid to inform you that Earth, will remain the home of all Humans. and all Humans, will not be disturbed, not so close to Christmas especially. Honestly did you think I'd let you ruin my favourite holiday?" That familiar playfulness returned once more to the Doctor's eyes, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. That's the Doctor I knew. Well, sort of. My Doctor was floppy haired and wore Bow-Ties.

"You see, old fiend. You cannot stop me this time round, for I've gained a wonderful ally."

"Oh?" The Doctor asked, pushing Korst to divulge more.

"And, this enemy of yours, this friend of darkness and Slitheen, will come after you, should anything happen. And after Earth? We'll enslave the inhabitants of the Horsehead Nebula. The Universe will be ours, Doctor. You just watch."

Korst barely had time to finish before the Doctor raised the sonic, and the chandelier broke from the ceiling, crashing to the floor and sending Korst and Rose flying apart. Rose took no time to jump to her feet and run back towards us. Korst stood slowly, the human flesh hanging from his arm to reveal stratified, scaly green and yellow skin. This was the beast that had chased me.

Something changed in Silion, he was no longer lax and placid, rather rigid, eyes seeming to glow almost crimson deep down. His humanoid hands gripped the translator orb tightly as it too began to glow a light red.

I glanced nervously around the room, trying to develop my own plan of attack in case the Doctor was stumped, seeing as he made no further move to stop Korst.

Korst steadied himself, a wicked grin plastered across his rosy face. He peeled the skin away from his hand to reveal some long clawed, beastly hand. with the claws he ripped away more flesh from his arm to show even more of the green skin.

"Any day now," I quietly urged the Doctor to move. He raised a finger to quiet me in reply. I nodded slowly, lips pursed.

"Nothing will touch so much as a grain of sand on that planet, is that absolutely clear?" The Doctor hissed. Korst chuckled darkly.

"So be it. On this day, it will be the Ood Sphere which we first take over. Once we have our slaves, Doctor, all that sand, will be ours."

Silion uttered something that sounded like a soft growl. I turned to look at the distraught Ood, quickly gathering that Korst planned on enslaving the Ood race.

Suddenly the room filled with a blinding light, and a powerful wave of heat that sent the lot of us stumbling back. I raised my arm to shield my eyes from the engulfing white light.

Once the light faded away we all looked upon Korst's lifeless body. The human shell was ripped away completely and he lay in it like a nest of flesh, massive black eyes filming over in the first stages of decomposition.

Rose clasped her hand over her mouth in silent horror. The Doctor howled in anger as Silion stepped back, eyes normal and the translation orb glowing a cool blue.

"No! Can't you see he was egging you on? Could one creature really enslave a whole race? He wanted you to kill him! He wanted for whatever he's allied with to come after me!" The Doctor seethed, looking directly at Silion.

"I was simply doing my duty to protect the Horsehead nebula, sir." Silion replied curtly.

The Doctor paced, knotting a hand into his hair as he thought.

"Oh this is bad." He muttered

"C'mon Doctor, anything allied with the Slitheen can't be all that bad can it?" Rose asked, in an attempt to calm him. He shook his head and pushed his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.

"No use worrying, I say it's better to have it after us than after the human race, yeah?" I offered my own attempt at calming the Timelord.

"well... I suppose..." He trailed off before shaking his head. "Anyway, let's get Silion home and we can move on for now." Rose rubbed his back for a moment, soothingly and he let out a sigh of relief before ushering the lot of us back to the TARDIS.

"Well... Allons-y," He shook his head and flipped a switch, once again sending the TARDIS hurdling away into space and all through time. '

I held tight to the railing, as did the others while the Doctor stayed dancing around the console, flipping switches and pulling levers.

VWORP VWORP VWORP THUD

The TARDIS finally materialized and the Doctor was the first to bound to the doors and throw them open, only to reveal a barren and snowy landscape with some winding ice city in the middle ground of the horizon.

"Ood Sphere, Horsehead Nebula, most notable for being the natural habitat of the wonderful Ood species." The Doctor spoke as he bounded through the doors, myself and the others following close behind.

And that is all for this update. It's been awhile and I apologise, I've been very busy with class and a few problems outside of that. I can't promise that I'll be updating soon but that is the plan! Ten chapters down. Ten to go! I'd like to thank Jenn for her wonderful review of this story!
