"Don't be embarrassed of who you are, they're gonna judge you no matter what you do."
~Melina KianakaredesThe upcoming weeks were more then hectic. Everyone was panicking and Ava's house was constantly filled with moving services and there was no privacy at any part of the day at all. But 3 weeks later, the house was refurbished and re done and Ava had a soon to be step brother living with her indefinitely. She didn't particularly care as long as he left her alone, which she later learned, wasn't happening.
"Hey Ava."
Luke came into her room wearing a nirvana shirt and sweats. Ava rose her eyes, looked him up and down before putting her headphones off and gave him a questionable look.
"I just wanted to let you know that my bandmates are coming to lunch."
"Cool. Anything else?"
Luke shook his head and Ava put her headphones back on. She was listening to The waves Virginia Woolf's most experimental yet in Ava's opinion, best novel. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder and took of her headphones reluctantly. Her green eyes traveled upwards to Luke's eyes.
"What?"
Her question came out harsher then anticipated and she felt a bit bad because of it. After all, he probably didn't want any harm but it was one of those days when Ava just wanted some peace and quiet to contemplate things like the problems of society and its influence on young, impressionable teens. And Luke was disturbing her alone time, which was never a wise thing to do.
"Um...just so you know, they'll be staying for a couple of days."
"How long is a couple of days?"
Her eyes were piercing through Luke as she was imagining having to share her house with not just one but four boys for an uncertain amount of time.
"Well, we don't know yet."
"Why are they even gonna stay here?"
Luke started tugging on his lip ring and Ava rolled her eyes. The boy was nervous around her way too much.
"Well we have to write songs and they live quite far away and well, my birthday is coming up so they want to be here-"
She stopped his shaky voice mid-sentence.
"Okay, okay. I understand. Anything else?"
He shook his head and Ava tried her hardest to smile but she knew that it didn't look like she was smiling at all. By that point, she was pretty waxed because of her nervous step brother and just wanted some peace and quiet for the time being before the whole house will be filled with hormonal famous boys her age. She probably seemed awfully mean to Luke and she realized that but her energy levels were too low to care about that in the moment. Luke smiled weakly and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Then Ava threw herself back on her back and stared at the ceiling. She thought about how she will be able to live with four boys when she barely ever talked to people. At least in real life. Online, she had quite a social life. She ran a personal blog and it was quite big alongside being quite the controversial site. She wrote how she felt about topics such as reality and other and people loves telling her how they disagree with her. With everything that Ava was, she was not argumentative. She supported and accepted other opinions of other people as long as they some kind explanation for their beliefs. But others didn't share the same mindset. Other readers loved telling her how her beliefs were wrong all though everything she wrote about were her opinions on certain matters and nothing was a cold hard fact. So technically, if you were able to support your argument, you were right no matter what you thought and no one could tell you otherwise. But then again, it did take a lot from a person to accept that others don't see the world the same way they do and sadly, most people weren't able to do that. She heard a gentle knock on her door and her mother stepped in.
