I lied in my bed with my pillow over my ears trying to block out the thumping beats of the party Cassius was throwing. He didn't even ask me if he could have one, and it was too late for me to rebut the idea. I was silently cursing every single person out there. I was studying, but the noise got to be too much for me to handle and I politely returned to my bed. The sudden ringing of my phone brought me out of my irritated stupor.
"Hello?" On the other end, there was the sounds of a party. Or maybe it was just how loud it was here.
"Hey there Amelia!" I smiled at my aunt's voice. I haven't heard it since I moved.
"Aunty Ellis! It's so good to hear from you! How are things going with you and Richard?" She sighed.
"We're getting married! We thought that five years was a long enough time to date, so we're getting married on May 3. Will you be there?"
"Of course I'll be there! I'm so excited!" We both geeked out like little girls."I'll go ahead and send the invitation in the mail for you." I smiled at that. My aunt is getting married! We said our goodbyes before hanging up the phone. The noise from the party was giving me a major headache, so I snuck out of my room to go and get some aspirin. There were a million and one people packed in our house, so it was a little hard to push through them all, but I managed. It was at times like these that I wish I were taller. The kitchen was surprisingly clear which was a complete win for me. I scurried in the kitchen wearing jeans and a white tee. My hair was in a bun and I had my glasses on, so I was trying to make sure no one could see me.
I got on my tippy toes to get the aspirin from the counter. That fricking dick always puts everything important on the highest shelf because he's 5'10" and I'm 5' 0". He's such a butthole. Every time he says he's 6', I "politely" correct him. I smiled at the thought of me always getting the last word because that insult works in every situation. I shook two pills from the pills and put them in my mouth before chugging some water. Now to just let them work their magic. I sighed and walked back to my room. When I opened the door, there were two bodies colliding in the most disgusting way. I watched in horror as my homework was ruined by their bodies.
I ran to the bathroom and puked out everything I ate today. I have to redo my homework and two rich jerks fornicated on my bed! I have no idea what to do. I pushed through the sweaty bodies to get outside to get some fresh air in my lungs. The house felt too crowded. I sat on the curb trying to regain my mind. I let out a deep breath then looked up. The night sky was so pretty and clear. I wrapped my arms around myself and began to cry. Thinking about the sky makes me think about my parents and thinking about my parents makes me want to cry. I'm such a little wuss. I cannot stand myself. I wiped the tears from my eyes and continued to hold myself.
Something cold being pressed against my temple made me look up. Cassius was standing above me with a bottle of water. He sat next to me on the curb then handed me the water. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
"What happed to you?" I opened the water bottle and took three huge gulps. I sighed then looked at the ground.
"Two people are knocking the boots in my bed on top of my homework." His snickers made me look up.
"Knocking the boots? What is this? 1999?" I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes."You're so inconsiderate." I rested my arms on my knees before putting my head on them. He surprised everyone by patting my back.
"You know, as much as I hate your guts, I don't like to see you cry. I'm sorry they are fucking on your history papers." I blushed at his vulgar word but smiled nonetheless at his sentiment. Maybe he's not so bad.
"I don't know where to sleep tonight. Should I get a hotel room?" It was his turn to be surprised.
