I barked out a scary cough before sneezing. I'm absolutely miserably sick. My head was pounding and I was 106 degrees, but still cold. The fan was on and blowing at me full speed, but I was also wrapped in two blankets. I've somehow managed to catch the flu. I sniffled before letting out a groan. I've been in and out of feverish dreams all week. Cassius completely freaked out when I woke up hotter than him. Apparently I passed out during breakfast which made him freak out even more. The doctors said I was lucky to still be alive. I just want to know how I'd get the the flu outside of flu season.
I want my boyfriend right now. He's been at his dads avoiding me because he doesn't want to get sick. That has to be the worst part of being sick. I opened the door and shuffled my way to the kitchen. My blanket was wrapped around me even though I had no clothes on because I was literally tottering on the cusp of death. I barked out my cough again then held the counter to catch my breath. I lined all my medicine on the counter and took it like shots before downing some water. I hate being sick. I got back into my bed then groaned.
When I opened my eyes, the curtains were wide open. I groaned then turned away from the brightness that seeped into my room.
"I get that you're sick, but you need some light." I looked over at Whitney who was cleaning up my room. I pulled my blanket over my head and groaned.
"It's too bright." My stomach was tottering from lack of food, but every time I eat, my stomach hurts and I am nauseous.
"You'll be alright." I turned over and went back to sleep. It was dark when I opened my eyes again. My room was suddenly too hot so I took a throw and stripped before going to the couch.I listened to the latch click as the door unlocked. My heart sped up when I saw Cassius. He smiled at me before putting his cold hand on my forehead. I closed my eyes and sighed from the coolness of his hand. He leaned down and kissed my hairline before sitting next to me. I rested my head on his lap. Feeling his hand in my hair made me sigh. He's so gentle and I missed him so much.
"What made you come over?" He caressed my arm with his cold hand.
"I missed you. You're not feeling any better?" I shook my head. I've been in misery for what feels like forever.
"I think we should take you back to the hospital. It's been a week and you're not better."
"I don't want to go to the hospital again." He stopped touching me for a moment before sighing.
"K." Time froze for a moment. I sat up and looked him straight in the eye. There was obvious tension and anger was rolling off of him in waves."You did not just 'k' me." He crossed his arms then sighed again. No sir. No SIR!
"Who pissed in your Cheerios?"
"No one. I just don't understand you. Why don't you want to get better?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"You think I don't want to get better? Cassius, I hate needles and I hate hospitals therefore, I'm not going back to be poked and prodded by needles." I coughed into my elbow for a few moments. I wiped my mouth then looked him squarely in the eye."I feel horrible and I don't need you to make me feel shitty." I stood up and went into the bathroom. I sat against the cool tiles on the floor for a second before turning on the cold water for a shower. I stepped into the shower and sighed as the water cascaded over my body. I rested my face against the tiles as I lazily washed my body. A sudden wave of tiredness came over me and my eyes were barely working. Tired person plus water and slippery tub equals nothing good. Newton's third law. I turned off the water then went to my room. I was cold as I dried off, so I hurried so I could jump into my bed.
I let out a sigh when I got into the bed. I'm so tired. I closed my eyes as I drifted off again. The next time I awoke, I felt a million times better. I got out of bed and pulled on some black sweatpants as well as a black undershirt. I braided my hair in a single braid before I left my room. I let out a sigh as I went into the kitchen. I opened a can of chicken noodle soup and poured it into a pot. I took a bowl out before stirring the pot. I felt warm arms wrap around my waist and a head nestle in the crook of my neck. I continued to cook as if he wasn't there.
