I nervously boarded the private jet we were taking to Texas. I was wearing sweatpants and a black turtleneck. Mr. Reeves and Drew were already sitting down while Cassius and I stood. I took a seat across from the sitting men.
"I am so glad that you're here." I smiled politely at Mr. Reeves.
"I don't think it's fair that you let Cassius bring his girlfriend along to our trip." Cassius flipped him off before looking down at his phone.
"So you guys take this trip every year?" I was trying to lighten up the heavy air.

"Yeah. Well I'm going to sleep." I closed my mouth at that. Obviously they don't want to talk. I took out my book and began to read. The time passed faster and pretty soon, it was time to land. We got off the jet and filed into a car. Mr. Reeves waved and posed for the cameras before getting in the car.
"It's so good to be back home." I lifted my brows in surprise.
"You're from Texas?" He nodded then grinned a dazzling smile.
"I love this state." I giggled at him. He looks like a kid in a candy store. I waited anxiously for the car to stop. It rolled up to a beautiful hotel then we all filed out.

It was dark outside, but the city was still alive. Cassius and I sat down as we waited. Cassius has been so quiet today. I looked over at him, but he wasn't looking at me. He seems so spaced out.
"Here you go. I went ahead and got you two a shared room," his dad winked at us. It amazes me how much they think we're together. Cassius didn't say anything and just took the key. I followed him to the elevator. I hummed as the elevator took us to the top floor. He unlocked the door then led me inside.

The room was huge with a big bed in the middle of the room along with a tv as big as the one we have at home. Cassius took a seat while I continued to explore the room. I looked at the bathroom and thanked god for the big mirror. I left the bathroom and was sad to see he was still sitting in the chair.
"Okay. What's the matter?" I sat down on the bed and he shrugged.
"Come on now, please don't lie to me." He looked up at me.
"We used to always go on this trip with mom. I just miss her." He ran a hand through his hair.
"My mom was the most amazing person. She was sweet and kind. She was understanding in every situation and was perfect as a person more than a mom. More than a wife." His eyes misted over some.

"Mom would've loved you you know. You're kind and care more for others than you do yourself." I blushed then looked down.
"I'm here for you no matter what."
"What was it like for you? The year after your parents died?" I shrugged.
"It was...hard. Losing both of them at the same time and then you remember all the little things you guys did together. I miss them so much, but I've learned to live. I find my happiness in my friends like you and Whitney. It stays with me, but I don't let it control me." I smiled then patted his shoulder.

"But it's so hard." He sounded so frustrated.
"I know. I know but I'm here for you." He kept his hands tangled in his hair. I feel so bad that he's going through so much. He looked up at me.
"Thank you. It's pretty late; do you want to go bed?" I nodded.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to hop in the shower then I'm going to be right back." He nodded.
"I'm going to go use the shower somewhere then I'll be right back." He stood up then grabbed some clothes. I open the shower door and started the shower. I stepped into the water and immediately began to wash my body.

I washed my hair then turned off the water. I wrapped a towel around my body before going into the room. I grabbed some black shorts and a white tank top. I don't like to wear underwear or a bra to bed. I actually don't like sleeping with clothes on, but I have to because Cassius and I are sleeping together. I took the towel off and pulled the shorts on. I picked the towel up and put it away before going to get my shirt. The door opened and in walked Cassius. I froze mid shirt grab as we stared at each other. He suddenly burst into laughter before closing the door. I hurriedly put my shirt on while my cheeks nearly burned off.
