PIPER - She's Quite Something

Previously....

The gang have split up to rescue Zeus, Poseidon, Hades and Leo. Piper, Jason and Thalia have gone to save Zeus. Percy and Annabeth are going to save Poseidon. Hazel and Frank are going to save Hades. Alyssa and Nico have gone to get Leo back from Khione, Goddess of Snow.

**Note** Now each chapter will change POV's so the battle is seen from all fronts

PIPER-

That young lady is quite something. Alyssa had just boarded the Argo II and was now setting sail to save Leo from that cold Goddess Khione. My honest opinion, I wanted to get Leo. He is like a brother to me. I remember the day we defeated Gaea and her forces. Leo nearly died. Khione had frozen him solid but he was so scared that he couldn't use his fire ability and was close to dying. Then, Khione made a huge mistake by saying that now he could never say his 'precious' Calypso. I have no idea who Calypso is but she must be something special because he lost it. I've never seen him do anything like it. His entire body was on fire. He looked at Khione and his glare sent shivers down my spine. Khione's face drained of colour (if it could get any paler), Leo flipped over her head and grabbed a hold of her hair, burning it to its roots, also setting her hair alight.

Khione ran around screaming. When she seemed to realise she could put it out with her snow, it was too late. Leo held her by her throat, thankfully his flame encased body was no longer on fire, and lifted her off the floor. Where he got this sudden burst of strength, I don't know but I do know that it's scary.

"Never speak about her like that" Leo hissed at her. Khione was released and she fell to the floor.

"H-how?” Was all she was able to say.

"LEAVE!" Leo roared. Khione scampered away but not without adding "- I'll enact revenge on you, son of Hephaestus".

Leo's glare reminds me never to get on his bad side. I shuddered at the memory.

"Hey Piper, are you alright?" Jason asked me, now arriving from his conversation with Alyssa. Thalia was running around barking orders, I couldn't help but notice the sad look in her eyes.

"Piper?" Jason asked again, nudging my shoulder.

"Oh, sorry. I'm just worried about Leo" I told him. He smiled. His eyes sparkled and I felt my heart flutter.

"Yeah, we all are. I'm more concerned for Alyssa and Nico" he said.

"I think there is more to your sister than meets the eye. I mean - she is not only a genius but a very powerful young woman"

"Yes but I just found her, I don't want to lose her"

I smiled at how caring he sounded. "She'll be fine Jason, she also has Nico"

"Yes but I've seen the way he looks at her, he isn't there to help her, he's going to protect her" Jason sighed.

"Yes, I've seen it too. It's the way Percy looks at Annabeth, the way Frank looks at Hazel"

"He loves her Piper but he's going to hurt her"

"No he won't" I argued, smiling at him. He smiled back.

"He'll get himself killed. That will hurt her"

I was left shocked. I never knew Jason would care so much about his newly found sister. It made me feel proud that he is so kind and loving. I've never seen him like this with Thalia.

"Jason, they'll be fine"

"There's something that she's hiding from him that could get them both killed Piper"

"What? How bad is it?" I asked him. This could ruin the rescue mission.

"You know how his sister is dead?” I nodded, confirming that I understood.

"Well, his dead sister inhabits Alyssa's body-" Jason paused to look at me "- and she hasn't told him yet".

I smiled. "Well, that messes up their relationship"

"I'm sorry Piper but I'm not up for joking. You saw Enceladus in the river, he's back but he should be dead which means that Tartarus is very strong" Jason's facial expression was serious.

"Yes, I realise that"

"And the way Alyssa treated Enceladus at the river shows that she doesn't know what she's up against"

"I know Jason, but-". Jason cut me off.

"It's her prophecy and she's been training for only a few days and now she has this on her plate-" Jason was now pacing back and forth, running his hand through his hair.

"Jason!" I shouted. I managed to brake him from his worrying state. "You know what I think?"

"No, what do you think?" he asked sarcastically. I was hurt that he would speak to me like that. He has never spoken to me in a mean way or sarcastically. Jason must have seen my pained expression because a soft smile entered his face. "I'm sorry Piper-"

"No it's ok. You're worried and I can understand that but Jason, I think that Alyssa isn't the type to give up easily. I believe that she will do whatever it takes to protect her friends and her family. She'll do whatever it takes to protect her home" I told him. He smiled and hugged me.

"You're right, I shouldn't doubt her" he spoke into my ear. He then walked off to find Thalia, hoping to find our way of transport to the Wolf House.

She'll do anything to protect her home. But is that what might get her killed?

I was throwing stones into the Little Tiber when I heard the sound of feet hitting the ground. I turned around to see a very gorgeous woman. My mother. She was wearing a gorgeous blue evening dress with silver flat shoes and a small amount of make-up. Her hair was in dark brown curls that came down to her shoulders. Her eyes were blue with a look of 'not in the mood'.

"Hello Mother" I said. I love my mother, I do. I understand that she couldn't be there for me as a child because she's a Goddess and has other things she needs to do. Although, I can't help but feel that she's hiding something from me, something that I should know. Something that she can't bare to do herself. It scares me that my confident mother, can not do this.

"Hello Piper" Aphrodite replied.

"What is it you want?"

"I came here to tell you something of the utmost importance" my mother began.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Zeus is dying”
