Stefan's POV
I hurried away from there as fast as I could before they realise I was evesdropping and in no time, I was back at the Gilbert Lake House. It was still early but when I entered, everyone was gathered in the hall. When I noticed Matt had come too, I knew it was something serious.
"Where had you been?" Caroline questioned me
"Wanted a bit of fresh air so..."
"Couldn't you have informed!" Caroline cut me mid sentence. It was good she hadn't changed much.
"Relax love. We have more pressing matters at hand" Klaus intervened. Thankfully! I thought, not that I would thank him out loud.
"We've found why Esther hadn't gone to Ava yet. Ava was her plan B." Alaric said filling me in.
Plan B? As in Esther had something else planned which when failed she would go to Ava, I wondered.
"Matt here saw Esther & Finn on the Mystic Fall boundary, after which no magical creature can enter. Finn purposely walked in." Elijah said
"You Original vampires are also a kind of witch magic so if you enter you would die as well..." I said connecting the dots & making sense of Esther's plan.
"But apparently Finn was very much alive & later even Esther entered Mystic Falls unharmed" Matt concluded
"It means.."
"Mystic Falls is free of Traveller's spell!" Caroline squeked with happiness.
As the realisation hit there were almost smiles on everyone's face. We were going back home.
"But how did that happen?" Elena pitched in.
"I think the answer lies in this invite" Alaric said putting forth an envelope.
It was a pretty one with intricate flowers & leaves. It looked like an invite. Elena opened it & read to us-

"On the ruined place of Salvatore Estate now there is like a majestic mansion. Almost like suddenly!" Matt said "Since no one no longer goes there no one thought it was suspicious. Almost the whole town is invited & everyone is going! Curiousity is getting the better of them." he contonued.
"I think this is the time when Esther will try talking to Ava" Hayley said
"Well then we are going too" Klaus gave out his verdict.
I didn't like him bossing us but he was right. We needed her help no matter what. If being in her good books meant going to the ball we will. I guess it will be kind of refreshing for everyone. After a long time everything was seeming to settle down & be good.
