The Ritual & The Reunion

Stefan's POV

The next remaining days went by quickly. I was able to keep the human blood down without ripping any heads off. I had better control at my feeding than before & I felt more alive than ever!

It was early morning when I heard moment at in my room. It was Elena. She was all bright, fresh & beaming with the biggest smile I had seen in a long time. It didn't take my long to realise today was the day! I could almost feel the impatience radiating from her.

I quickly got ready & went downstairs. Jeremy, Matt & even Tyler had arrived. Since Caroline wanted to be there, Klaus wanted to tag along with her. Elijah & Hayley too wanted to be present there.

Soon we arrived at the Solaria Mansion. It looked the same magnificent structure it did that night. I went to knock on the door only to find it already open. We went in but no one was there.

"Did she flee away?" Matt questioned

"She's not you bus boy" Klaus said getting defensive.

"Can we postpone the fight for tomorrow. The door leading to the backyard is open. Lets go there" Elijah reasoned.

We all moved that away. Even the backyard was deserted but I could almost see the path leading inside the forest. I followed it up. Everyone was a bit confused but came anyway. After walking a little distance we found her!

Ava was stading there in the centre. The trees convereged at the top leaving a small hole through which the ray of sun toched the ground. The point where the speck of light was on the ground, became center around which a circle was drawn. Ava with her red hood was standing just outside the cirlce

"About time you all showed up. I hope you have brought what I asked for." She said without even looking at us.

Elena looked at me. I knew what had to be done. I went towards her & put my hand forward. She took a blade & sliced my hand, a trickle of blood flowed out onto the ground in the circle. But healed quickly. Weird. How on earth will she get so much of my blood without putting an unhealing spell.

"You will need to do something or he will keep healing like this" Elena said. I knew it pained her to even say it but we both wanted the same thing - Damon back.

"Yes I had said I will need huge quantity of his blood but I never said I will not use a replicating spell" Ava said with a grin.

She muttered something under her breath, and soon the whole circle had a fine sheet of my blood within it's boundaries. To say we were all dumbstuck,

"But.. but.. how.. you said.." Elena tried to form a coherent sentence but failed. It was hilarious.

"Asking to bring back the death is a big thing dear, I had to make sure you were ready for sacrifices to make it happen" Ava explained.

"So it was like a test" I said

"Yeah something like that" she nodded off

When everything was ready, we all waited with catched breathes, looking at our watches & waiting for Eclipse to start. As soon as it started, she started the ritual. We could see her lips moving but couldn't hear anything. When the Eclipse reached the peaked, the blood in the center started to bubble & slowlg receeded to wards the border. The whole circle was illuminated & air was flowing out of it as if the ground had vanished & almost as if a hole as been formed.

All of the suddenly the climate changed. Rough winds started blowing. It was soon raining & thundering. At first I thought it was because of the spell but then I looked at Ava. It was distracting her as she was finding it difficult to hold herself.

"Its our mother" Elijah said pointing to a figure little farway.

"She is attacking Ava but Ava is trying to hold her off while performing the spell she is doing and hence it is creating the disturbances" Klaus growled

"Why but?" Hayley questioned while trying to balance herself.

"Ava refused to help her. She wants her revenge. She knows while performing any kind of strong spell, the person is at its weakest. Either Ava will continue her spell but wear herself out in the process or stop the spell & fight with Esther" Klaus said as if reading his mother's mind.

After coming so far, I was not ready to give up. We decided to use her tactics against her. While Elena, Caroline, Hayley & Jeremy stayed back near Ava to ensure there was no other attack planned, I, Klaus, Elijah & Alaric charged up against her, all at once. She had not anticipated this & it shook her. She used her magic to put us down but she was out numered. While she was trying to put us out, her attack on Ava weakened. She knew it was futile fighting with us as it would yield her nothing, she fled.

Feeling slightly weak by all the attacks from Esther, we still walked back. It seemed Ava was at the end of her spell, even Eclipse was about to end.

One moment there was pitch black hole next moment we saw a figure emerge & then another. It was difficult to make out who as a bright yellow stream enclosed them. I looked at Ava she was on her knees almost drained & yet she was continuing.

Finally last figure appeared & bam! All of suddenly all the mayhem came to rest! The weather was back to normal, the ground was back & as the light around the figures was slowly consuming within them...

I couldn't believe my eyes! It had finally happened! It worked.

Damon was the first one to walk through the light, next was Bonnie & finally the 3rd figure. I was so curious about who was this person to return? An old enemy. A Foe. But what I saw I couldn't be any less surprised ~ It was Lexie. My blonde best friend in flesh!

There were kisses, hugs & tears. Tears of joy were there on almost everyone's faces. Caroline & Elena gave Bonnie a crushing hug. I gave one to Lexie too. I thought the Mikaelson family maybe feeling awkward but there they were all beaming in smiles for us.

Although all 3 had this weird light aura but no one cared since they were back & that was all that mattered.

I had my brother back. My best friend being back was the added bonus. I turned around to look at Ava, only she wasn't there...
