Collision Course (continuation of Running with Gods)

Bittersweet

It wasn't long before you were all inside the lobby of the complex. Tony was relaxing outside with his stealth mode active.

"You guys want to head down 2 levels and make a right" Tony gives your directions through the communicators whilst eating a small bag of M&Ms.

You watch as Bucky and Summers take lead, knocking out Hydra agents as they go.

"Buck, you and Summers take the next floor Nat and I will go down to the bottom floor and get our Intel." Steve directs.

"And what about me?" You ask.

"This should be easy enough for the 4 of us. You can head back out and help Tony"

You didn't stop to think and words just fell out of your mouth.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"

Steve turns towards you lowering his shield, standing inches from you, you look up at him. Controlled anger was all over his face, even in the dimly lit hallway you swear you could see red in his eyes.

"I don't have time for your attitude you will do as I say, now go before you ruin this mission to"

You inhale sharply. You didn't look at anyone as you turned to leave.

You reach the outside and Tony drops his stealth mode and opens his mask as you walk to him.

"You heard that right?" you ask him trying to hold your composure.

"I did" he says with furrowed brows.
"I've never heard him speak like that to anyone, not even me" he tells you.

"Yeah well he's becoming a real jerk" you pout and cross your arms, you didn't care if everyone could hear you trough com.

You use the stone to open your mind, being able to hear anything nearby, just in case.

Just then you hear footsteps running behind you. It was a Hydra agent. Tony uses his hand blaster and stuns the guy knocking him off his feet.

"Guys were having a bit of trouble on our floor" you heard Bucky.

"Were on our way back up" you hear Steve reply to him.

You look to Tony, "Should we go help?"

"Until Cap tells us, we should stay here" he says slightly frustrated. You could tell Tony wasn't happy following someone else's orders but in the end he knew Cap knew what he was doing when it came to missions.

You paced back and forth communicating with Bucky.

"Are you okay? Do you need me? What's going on?"

"NO! Stay there, we will be okay, Summers has my back"

Hearing those words made your heart catch in your throat. That should be you down there looking out for Bucky. Summers had worked her way into the group to get close to the team, especially to him and you had had enough.

You hear a gasp and a pained grunt "Aghhhh" the person exclaimed through clenched teeth.

"Barnes is hit"

Without a seconds thought you teleport to the rest of the team.

"Freeze" you command all the Hydra agents.

Taking the flash drive off Natasha while she was tending to Bucky you teleport down to the server room and extract all the data and intel you could find.
Once you had everything you needed you teleported back to the team, and used your enhanced powers to extract everyone to the quinjet. You stop only monetarily to hand Natasha the flash drive before placing your hand on Bucky to transport you both to the medi bay back at the base.

Running to the glass door you shout into the hallway for a medic.

"Doll" you hear his voice.

"Why isn't anyone down here?!" you say in frustration, looking around.

"Hey Doll, look at me"

You turn to see Bucky standing behind you looking confused.

"What's going on?" he asks.

"Your hurt, i heard that you'd been hit" you look at him trying to find his wound.

"Who said I'd been hit?" his voice serious.

"Erhhhh" you try to recall whos voice you had heard.
"It was...." you search your thoughts.

"(Y/N) listen, I'm not hurt, no one called in that I was hit" he explains.

Confusion run wild in your mind,
"But I heard it clear as day, i saw Nat holding your shoulder" you whisper.

Bucky lets out a sigh and pulls you in for a tight hug. Holding him close to you as you hug him back you speak.

"I'm in big trouble arnt I?"

He kisses the top of your head as your head lay on his chest, he knew that your actions were going to bring bad consequences.

"Should we head back?" you ask.

"Let's not make things worse" he tells you "If they need us they'll call" he adds.

Moments pass as you and Bucky try to figure out the voices you had heard. Was it the same as the last mission? Why could you hear Summers involuntary? And ultimately, was it the stone?

Both of you head upstairs and get changed out of your gear. Just as your changed you hear the quinjet landing outside. Fear grows in your stomach as you knew you weren't going to enjoy this interaction. You waited for Steve or Summers to come charging in to explode on you, but nothing.
No one came up to Bucky's room to find either of you.

"This is bad isnt it?" you look at Bucky.

He walks over to you,
"Let me head down and do some damage control, I will talk to Steve and try to explain what happened. Don't worry we will figure this thing out together."

His words put you slightly more at ease as you watched him head out the door.
