Then There Were Three

You head into the conference room and watch the footage of Summers with everyone.
You could all the see the points where she was using her stone to manipulate things and people around you.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that" Steve apologies again.

"Hey, it's okay, I'll get over it. You didn't know that she was capable of tricking your minds" you reply.

"Speaking of" Tony starts "Now with your stone gone do you still have your powers?"

"Good question" You hadn't even stopped to think that your powers may have left with the stone.

"I can still talk to Corax so i assume i can still command other animals. Who wants to be the human volunteer?"

Bucky spoke before anyone else "I'll do it"

You looked into his eyes, you didn't want to control his mind, given his past but you also knew he wouldn't take no for an answer. He pulls out a chair and stands in front of it.

Inhaling deep you close your eyes and try to push your thoughts into his. You struggle to find a connection that would allow you to command someone. Opening your eyes you try a little harder, concentrating more on Bucky.

"Sit down......sit.....SIT!" You scream in your mind but it didn't reach his. He just stands there waiting.

"Its no use guys, I can't find a connection to his mind" you say bit disappointed yet relieved that you didn't have that kind of power any more.

Bucky walks a couple of steps and pulls you in for a hug.

"Her eyes didn't change colour either" Bucky says to the rest of the group.

"Well i'm back to my 'normal self' " you say with air quotations.

"Well, it's good to have you back either way" Steve smiles, he exhales "Until we can catch a lead with these aliens or the stones,"

Tony interjects "Which looks unlikely if they are in space"

"Right, i think we can all take some leave?" Steve finishes looking around at the team for approval.

"Sounds good to me Rogers, I could do with a vacation" Nat replies.

"Id like that" you smile.

"Tony?"

"You know me Cap, I'm always on vacation, but i might head out to my pad in Malibu"

Steve gives a small chuckle "Well that's settled then, keep your phone's on you at all times just incase"

Everyone nods "I don't have a phone" you tell him.

"Oh that's okay" Tony tells you "You have one built in now" he points at your arc reactor.

"I what?" you say looking down at it.

"We should probably get you to grips with your new tech before you and Barnes take off for vacation?" Tony asks.

"Yeah I think we should" you giggle.
"What will you do Steve?" you ask him.

He shrugs "I don't know, maybe just hang around the complex, get some peace and quiet once everyone's gone?"

"Ohhhhhh no you don't Rogers, your coming with me" Nat walks up to him "I know a secluded farm with old friends we can visit" she says secretively.

"But" Steve began to argue.

"But nothing, F.R.I.D.A.Y can keep tabs on things after these 3 have gone." Nat re assures him.

Steve gives in as he knew Nat wouldn't leave without him.
"Well pack your bags Rogers we leave in an hour" Nat smiles, happy that Steve was going with her.

As much as you wanted a rest from the "superhero life" you didn't like the idea of the team going their separate ways. You knew it wouldn't be forever but even the small amount of time apart from your new family put a pit in your stomach.

You walked up to Steve and give him a big hug "Don't go getting in trouble" you tell him.

He lets out a small laugh and smile as he reciprocates the hug "I promise i wont"

You turn to Nat and basically run and tackle her into the tightest hug you've ever given "Im going to miss you"

"I will miss you too (y/n)" she says as she hugs you back.

As you loosen your grip on Nat you see Bucky finishing up a man hug with Steve.
Bucky walks up to Nat and gives her a small hug  "Убедитесь, что он отдыхает (Make sure he rests)" he says to her in Russian.

"Не волнуйся, я заставлю его расслабиться (Don't worry i'll make him relax) " they both laugh, knowing the implication of her response.

"See you later Tony"  Nat speaks across the room, knowing that he wasn't a hugging person.

He gives them both a small nod and wave as they leave the room.

"And then there were 3" you say softly.

"Well, no time like the present to get you to grips with the suit. Shall we?" Tony asks walking past the two of you and out the door.
