Your Worst Fears

You wait for a while before you decide you can't wait any longer and head out of Buckys room and down to the living room.

When you entered no one was there, you had expected to see Bucky trying to fight your corner but the room was empty.

"Hey babe where are you?" you think to Bucky.

"With Steve, Tony, Nat and Bruce in the lab talking things over just give me a few more minutes. They seem to understand the situation" he says hurriedly.

Just then F.R.I.D.A.Y talks to you "Will Miss (L/N) head to the conference room" she asks politely.

"Sure" you reply with a heavy sigh not asking who or what you were needed for.

As you headed up you entered the room Summers was stood at the head of the table with an open laptop infront of her with Fury on a Skype call.

"Take a seat" Fury ordered as Summers flips the laptop around so he could see you.

You do as he says waiting to hear the biggest lecture on how your a fuck up.

"Agent Summers has informed me on the past two missions and I gotta say it doesn't look good. You completely butchered the first mission hearing and seeing things that wernt there. Causing us to lose all trace of Hydra on that mission."

"I put i down to pressure as it was my first mission after my incident. That and a lack of sleep, sir" you tell him.

"So what's your excuse for earlier tonight? Extracting the team from a mission and removing yourself and Barnes from the field all together?"

"I heard he was shot" you answer.

"And was he?" Fury asks knowing the answer.

"No" you whisper looking down.
"But I got all the Intel we needed before removing the team sir"

"That's not the point, you argued when given orders, you then disobeyed your orders and put the rest of the team in danger while you were attending to you imaginary thoughts. You even hid the fact that you could do more with your powers! Teleporting? Who knows where your going at any given point!" he lays into you pausing for a moment.
"I let the first instance slide but i cant ignore it again,...your off the team"

Your eyes grow wide and your mouth nearly drops to the floor.

"What?, No i can do better, i can fix things" you plead.

"My decision is final" he tells you.

"Please!" Water starts to pool in your eyes. You could see Summers was trying to hold back a smirk.

"Until further notice you will reside in Stark Tower in uptown New York. It's the best place for us to observe you until we can figure out what's wrong with you or what to do with you, whichever comes first.
Summers is the only person to have access to the tower while your there. I gave you a chance to prove that you were on our side but from what Summers has reported, i can't trust you."

"Summers?" Fury begins. "I will have a team over to assist you in removing (y/n) from the facility. Let me know how it goes and when shes secure"

"Yes boss" she says ending the Skype call.

You wiped the tears from your eyes.
"Come on you heard Fury" she says holding out handcuffs.

You don't move from your seat, looking up at her you simply say,

"You've got to catch me first"

Instantly you teleport down to the lab to find the rest of the group. Rushing in you spot everyone standing talking, running up to Bucky you hug him as tight as you can.

"Their taking me away, please don't let them" you cry.

"Who's taking you, (y/n) what's going on?" Bucky's on high alert as he holds you.

Moving from his grip you turn to Tony.

"Please Tony, you asked me to be a part of this, you've got to help me fix this" you continue to cry holding on to his right forearm.

"Kid, we don't know what your talking about, breathe" Tony urges.

Taking a moment to calm your nerves and wipe your tears you start to explain.

"Summers had a Skype call with Fury. He says i'm off the team, that he can't trust me and he's moving me into Stark Tower until further notice. Hes sending a squad over to assist Summers in taking me there"

Tony and Bucky look at you in disbelief.

"We can't let her do this, just coz (y/n) fucked up twice, i mean come on look at me I've had my fair share of fuck ups" Tony tries to argue.

"Yeah but Fury doesn't think your Hydra" Steve chimes in.

"Maybe it's best for us to let her go. Resisting will only make things worse" Natasha looks at you.

"What has gotten in to the both of you!" Tony shouts.

You look at Bucky not knowing what to do, you glance past him you hear the lift beep as the doors slide open. You see Summers emerge with 3 men behind her, handcuffs still in hand. You run to Bucky's arms his huge body shielding you from her.

"Please don't let them take me, i don't want to go" you whisper into his chest.

He kisses the top of your head.

"Sergent Barnes, please step aside" Summers requests.

He doesn't move, instead he talks without moving his body from yours.

"I'm afraid I can't do that Summers. If you want her your going to have to go through me"

Instantly you hear the 3 men cock their guns and aim them at Bucky.

"You know that you won't come out on top of this Barnes" Nat tries to talk sense into Bucky while holding her palms up to the 3 men, as a signal to wait a moment.

"Buck, this is Fury were talking about, if you side with (y/n) now, you'll both be on the run for the rest of your lives and it will be us tracking you down" Steve tells his friend.

"Listen to the two of you!" Tony begins "This shouldn't even be happening, Fury has no right sending agents into MY building and tearing us apart."

"We can arrange to have you removed too if you want Mr. Stark, that is if your going to side with this potential Hydra agent that has jeopardized 2 missions, with powers so great and unstable she could force anyone of you to join her" Summers informs.

Tony shuts his mouth unable to find words to argue back.

As much as you wanted to teleport yourself and Bucky away you didn't want to make him live a life on the run. He had done that once already and you would never do that to him.

You move away from his chest, your cheeks soaked with tears.

"Its okay" you whisper "I'll go" stepping away from Bucky's arms for what could be the last time.

"(y/n)" he moves towards you crashing his lips onto yours. He too knew that you surrendering was the right thing to do however much it hurt the both of you.

As his lips moved from yours a set of hands move yours behind you, locking them in place with cuffs.

"I love you" he tells you resting his forehead on yours his hair becoming damp from your tears.

"I love you more" you give a weak smile.

"I will fix this" he whispers.

"That's enough lets go" The man behind you tugs you away from Bucky.

You take one last look at everyone before the lift doors shut.
