Rescue

It was all a trick, how could you of been so stupid. Why hadn't anyone seen it until now?
Summers or whatever the hell that thing was had an infinity stone and as much as your heart wanted to beat faster through sheer panic at the mistake you had just made, your heart rate began to drop.

Looking around still trying to catch your breath you feel your heart giving up. It's beating becoming slower and slower.
You try to crawl but its no use, this was it, this was the end. You lay on the floor staring at the ceiling,

"I'm sorry" were your last words before your eyes closed.

As you grasped on to life you could feel the warmth of the setting sun hit your skin as the towers defences open. A huge crashing sound could be heard as glass shatters around you.
Cold metal touches your skin but you're to comatose to understand whats going on.

"Bucky?"

A sharp hot searing pain enters your chest, it felt like it was cutting into you.
Once it settles it gives you a small electric shock, jump starting your heart. Your eyes fling open and your greeted by an unfamiliar sight.

Suddenly a familiar voice talks in your ear "Hello Miss (y/l/n) help is on the way".

Your foggy brain started to slowly piece things together.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y?" you question as you looked down at your hands, which were covered in a blue and silver metal.

You sit up on the floor leaning against the couch and look down at your chest where you could feel that sharp hot pain lingering.

Where your stone once was, now sat an arc reactor, similar to Tonys but yours was smaller and circular. (as Tonys is triangular).

"F.R.I.D.A.Y?" you begin to ask. "The stone that Summers/ the alien had. It was an infinity stone wasn't it?"

"I believe it was, Captain Rogers had me analyize it. It's molecular structure was continually morphing inside itself. It seemed to be distorting the molecules and atoms around it to be undetected."

"Just great" you say sarcastically, your breathing now steadying.
"Now that you know the composition of the stone can you cross reference it with your recordings from the facility and Stark Tower to detect it?" you ask her.

"Sure thing"

F.R.I.D.A.Y speed redwinds footage of all cameras from the facility up to the point where Summers first enters the building. Sure enough the footage had changed and you were now able to see the alien and her stone, instead of Summers.

"It seems she had the stone in her posession the whole time, she's even created a fake Fury on her first visit." F.R.I.D.A.Y informs you, as your watching it on a holo screen inside your helmet.

You look as the fake Nick Fury had a strong red glow around him, the same as Summers.

"It seems like she could change atoms and molecules, make us see and hear things she wanted. Impersonate people or create illusions."

Something clicked in your mind, all those times you thought you saw or heard something, it was her. She made you paranoid, she turned the avengers against you, she singled you out. Divided and conquered, she knew you were too powerful with your friends, it's the only way you would hand the stone over to her so willingly, to take everything that you had. To make you feel like there was nothing left to live for.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y show me the video footage Summers sent me of her and Bucky." You swallowed hard, you didn't want to see it again but you needed to know.

She plays it back to you, your heart picks up speed. You see both of them in a strong red glow.

"The whole thing was completely fabricated." F.R.I.D.A.Y confirms.
It must of been the last step of her plan to break you.

You had never felt so much relief and happiness at once but your attention turns to the sound of a jet landing outside. You stumble to your feet as you try to stand unsure of who was making their way over to you.

You see silhouettes advancing towards you from the landing pad, each face slowly becoming visible as they entered.
You tried to walk towards them but you stumble, he jogs up to you and catches you in his arms.

He holds you tightly, as you retract your helmet, freeing your hair and face.

"It wasn't me, you have to believe me, i would never do that to you" Bucky's first words, pleading for you to believe him.

"I know, i know it wasn't you" you whisper into his chest as you both hold each other.

You didn't want to leave his tight, muscular hug but you pull away from Bucky to greet the rest of the team.

"Look" Steve begins to try and apologise for himself and Natasha.

You help him out as he struggles to find the words to say.
"Its okay, it wasn't your fault, you didn't know. No one knew what she was capable of."

Then there was Tony, he gave you a small smile as you walked up to him and gave him the biggest hug.

"Don't you go thinking that this hug is going to make me forget you thrashed my tower" he teases.

You laugh, you had missed his humour.
"This is for saving my life." You praise him.
"But how did you know it would work?" you ask.

"The night you came down to the lab and we ran a few tests on the stone, F.R.I.D.A.Y told us you couldn't live without it. So it got me wondering what could take its place? you know... just incase.
We figured that if your stone could hold enough energy to power a suit, why couldn't a suit power you. So it was just a case of creating a suit to your specs, making sure we had the same energy input as your stone and the hope that it would work."

"You didn't even know if it would work?!" you gasp a little shocked that his plan to save you was based on hope.

"Hey!, i was like 90....3% sure it would." he shrugs.

"Well, does it come with instructions? How to i take it off?" you ask him.

"Double tap your arc" he tells you.

You do as he says, after the second tap the suit quickly dissolves from around your body, encasing itself back onto the arc.

"Woah" you let out as you watch it.

"Thankyou"
