My first (official) date with Remington was on Saturday the next day, and I should be excited, but I was nervous. So nervous, I called Delilah to help me prepare for the evening out since I learned Reese's is a fancy restaurant. She brought her backup singers who I haven't seen in a while but they were excited to see me again, and they helped me to fix my hair & makeup, pick out an outfit, and give me confidence for the special occasion. Magnolia and Georgina kept rejoicing in glee and excitement about how happy they were that I was finally with Remington who they didn't think much of at first, but after seeing how sweet and protective he's treated me, they're glad he's the one to steal my heart and hope that I'm happy and content with him. They're such sweet girls, I considered Delilah lucky to have such kind ladies like them to be her backup singers.
After they were finished, I looked into my bathroom mirror and I almost didn't recognize myself. I was wearing a fancy red dress that covered my shoulders, my hair was slightly curled and collected on the left side of my head, my makeup was simple yet regal, and I was wearing dazzling, dangling earrings that matched my necklace. The thing that intimidated me most, was the red lipstick I was wearing that made me look older, but I loved how it matched my hair color. I smiled as I took in the red-haired beauty in the mirror and I smiled at my friends as they stood in pride of their best work. "There's just one thing missing", I mentioned, making them confused. I took my black rose and tucked in my right ear. The girls had huge grins as we stared at how nicely the flower complemented my look. I heard the door knock and I took a deep breath as I walked over to the front door - quite unsteadily since I was wearing high heel shoes - and the girls behind me as I opened the door to be greeted by the most handsome version of Remington Leith wearing a black suit and tie and holding a black rose in his hands that were decorated in his rings, and we became locked in each other's gaze and astonishment.
Remington's POV
I literally thought I was in heaven as I kept staring at the most gorgeous angel I've ever seen in my life. I didn't think it was possible for to look any more beautiful than she usually does, but man was I wrong. I didn't believe I was the one to take her out and have her as my own because I still felt like I didn't deserve her, but the way she smiled at me and wore my black rose in her pretty red hair made me believe she picked me for a reason and I felt like the luckiest boy on Earth. I smiled as I looked into her eyes and noticed she was taking in my look as well. "Like what you see, Carina?", I teased with a smirk, and she raised her brows and a blush fell across her face as looked down. An embarrassed smile greeted her lips as she responded nervously, "Aha, maybe... I know you'd say the same about me", she bit her lip as she teased me back and I pulled her close to me and was about to kiss her until she put her hand on my chest to stop me.
"Now, now, Rem", she said while holding a finger up, "I like to be wined and dined first before I kiss my date." She tried to hold back laughter, and I just smiled and kissed her cheek. "Let's have a great time, then, ma chérie", I suggested as I offered my arm, and she shyly took it after saying goodbye to her friends who wore huge, giddy grins on their faces and locked up her apartment. She asked me if I wanted her to drive us there to save time, but I told her I wanted to walk so we'd enjoy the fresh air of the night and we'd have more time to talk. "How in the world were you able to get a dinner reservation at a fancy restaurant?", she asked while we were walking down the street, and I shrugged and said, "I know a guy there who's been waiting for me to bring a date there and he's been waiting for two years." She gasped in surprise and retorted, "So its a win-win for you because you get to take me out and satisfy your friend?" I looked at her and answered, "More like a win-win-win, because I get to kiss you at the end of our date." She went quiet and turned red at my declaration.
When we got to the restaurant, I went up to the front desk and Carina gasped as the person turned around and smiled at us. "Waldo?", she said to him still surprised, "You work here? Well, Remington sure still has some surprises up his sleeve, doesn't he?" He nodded and turned to me and stated, "You were right. She was worth the wait." I winked at him, and Carina had a cute embarrassed blush and she tried to hide it. God she was so adorable sometimes, I couldn't contain how much I loved her. "Let me walk you over to your table and you have some time to decide what you would like to order", Waldo explained as he left us to the best table in the restaurant where there were flowers hanging from the ceiling and a gorgeous view of the night sky above us.
When we got seated, Carina looked at me and smiled as she remarked, "I must say, Remington, your connections are a little unethical, but I can't help but love you more for being such a gentleman." I smiled back and reached for her hand across the table and she took it as I declared, "A beauty such as yourself should be treated like a princess." She looked at me with so much desire, and then her expression turned into dread as she looked behind me and stared at something or someone. I turned to see what she was looking at, and I mirrored her expression as I saw my younger brother and his girlfriend, Nina, walk into the restaurant and almost see us.
OOOH!!! Yes, for the first time, I'm leaving you on a cliffhanger because you've had it good for too long. What'll happen next? Ooh, I'm gonna leave you hanging for a while, but I'm happy with the support I've been getting and I love how much reception this story has been getting recently. I love you all with my heart and soul!!! 🤗🤗🤗
