Chapter 119 (Conclusion)

Before I left to find my love, I brought my red leather jacket and my black rose chain necklace to show him I've never forgotten him. The drive was a bit risky because it was past midnight when I left my home, but I didn't care. Nothing is more important at this moment than to find Remington and tell him I still love him and I never want to be without him again. My God, I hated how I made my friends feel so distant from me, they mean everything to me and I need them in my life. I hope I can make it up to them after I do this. I got to the Kropp brothers' home and I knocked on the door quite fervently since I was impatient, but I hoped I wouldn't upset anyone at this hour. After a few minutes, I heard the door being unlocked and when it opened, I was happy to see it was Stephanie who opened the door. She did seem a little tired, but when she saw me, her face lit up so brightly.

"Carina?", she asked and I didn't hesitate to answer, "Stephanie, I remember. I remember everything again!" She smiled so big and hugged me so tightly. Soon enough, we were joined by two of her sons who were also mostly asleep. "Mom, what's going on?", Seb asked groggily and then Emerson spotted me and asked, "Carina? What are you doing here?" As I looked at them both, I shook my head and felt emotional as I recalled all the memories I shared with two lovely boys. "Emerson, Sebastian, I'm back", they looked confused at first, then Seb gasped in realization and came over to hug me tighter than his mother. "I remember, Sebastian. I remember how you hated me at first, and now you treat me like family", he started crying which made me cry, and then I let him go to hug Emerson who was in shock that I looked at him like a friend again. "Emerson, you are the most pure soul I've ever met and your artistic skills are a godsend. I'm so happy you're my friend and my friend Nina's boyfriend." He giggled at the mention of Nina, which warmed my heart.

I let him go and then I noticed something unusual. "Where's Remington?", I asked and they all had looks that made me worried. "We...haven't seen him for a while, Carina", Sebastian said hesitantly, making me scared now. "W-What do you mean?", Stephanie answered this time, "Sweetie, when you turned him away that day at the hospital, he believed you never wanted to see him again and then he came back once and didn't come home for a while. We're so worried if he's okay." Oh no, I was gone for too long. No, I have to find him, I won't rest peacefully until I find him. "I'll go look for him", I declared and then I walked out of their home and got back to my car. I noticed before I drove away that his motorbike wasn't here, so he must have took it with him and that's how I would be able to find him. I drove away and fueled determination I my heart to find my beloved vampire.

I searched almost everywhere in this wretched town and had no luck finding him. If he was inside a place closed at this hour, I couldn't break in without getting both of us in trouble. I even checked out friends' houses if he was there, each ecstatic that I was back to normal but was also worried after learning that Remington was missing. I was starting to lose hope that I wouldn't be able to find him and he'd be left believing I hated him for good this time and wished he never came near me again. I was cruising along the main street of the town starting to feel depressed and was about to pass by the park until I saw in the car distance, a beautiful motorbike sitting near a big, tall tree. When I looked up the tree, my heart stopped and my mind raced when I saw a solitary boy sitting at the top of the tree in the highest branch. Fucking monkey man. I drove up a bit far from the tree and parked there before exiting the car and walking to the motorbike. It was still as gorgeous as the day I bought it for him after he had a bad day and after I bought it for him, he told me he loved me and gave me my first kiss.

I looked up at the tree and stared at the figure just sitting still on the highest branch and smiled as I started to get closer to the tree and climb the branches. It was a bit hard to see clearly since it was dark, but I was able to adapt my eyes and climb up without hesitation. I started to climb more slowly and quietly when I got close to Rem and then when I was just under him, I whispered, "Psst!" He jerked his head to me and then his eyes widened as he saw me looking up at him. He didn't speak for a minute and then he asked, "Carina?" I shook my head and told him, "Don't call me that. You don't call me that." He looked confused and then I climbed up closer and sat across from him on the same branch before stating, "You call me...ma chérie." His eyebrows shot up and then I smiled brightly at him, him smiling back while also starting to cry.

I scooted closer to him and then took his arm and raised it to see he was still wearing the bracelet I gave him during Christmas. "I gave this to you last Christmas because I promised myself to give it to the boy who owned my heart and who I loved more than anything." He had so much shock in his expression, he could barely speak. Then I showed him the promise ring he gave me and stated, "You gave this to me on my birthday as a promise to me that when we were older and ready, you would ask me to spend the rest of my life with you and continue to love each other as we still do." Lastly, I tugged on the collar of my jacket, "You had this made for me as a way to make me your queen of your gang, which was amazing to me because it showed you respected me and held me in such a high place in your life." I brought myself closer to him until we were a couple inches apart from each other.

"Remington", I said while placing my hand on his cheek that was wet with tears, "I'm sorry I left you alone for too long. Truth is, you were always in my heart but I was just scared of losing you again. Now I know what we have is something that comes once in a lifetime and isn't killed easily." I then held his face in both hands and wiped away his tears, "You are the one person in my life that I wish I had met earlier to know you forever because a soul like yours is rare to find and I'm so blessed to know you're in love with mine as well. When I, Mrs. Infamous, met you, The Masochist, I had no idea you would be the love of my life. I love you, Remington Leith." I then slowly leaned into him and gently kissed his lips which didn't move at first, but after a second, he kissed me back and held my face so gently. I felt so complete in this moment, and deep in my heart, I knew this wouldn't be the only one. After a while, he pulled away far enough from my lips to whisper back to me, "I love you, too, Carina Wisteria." I smiled and so did he, and then he pulled me into another kiss that made me know for sure, this love was true and strong and it would last forever.
