Chapter 56

Carina's POV

It's funny how the world works sometimes: One minute you're on your first date with the guy you've been falling for only to realize the restaurant you're at is the same one your friend and her boyfriend chose to go to as well. That's not even the crazy part, it was that I was led to believe she was sick and unable to leave her home, but here she was healthy as a horse. Remington was shocked as well to see his younger brother, Emerson, here as well. They almost saw us for a second and Rem turned around quickly while I hid my face behind a menu. When I peeked to see them, they were sitting on other side of the place so I don't think they would see us easily. Me and Remington looked at each other and tried to hold back laughter as we couldn't believe the situation we were in.

"How is it you didn't know about this?", I asked him, "He's your brother." He shrugged and replied, "He disappeared yesterday and told me he needed to take of something personal. I'm not really sure what the fuck is going on now." I smiled and giggled and just suggested, "Let's just try to continue with our date and try not to disturb theirs out of respect." He nodded and then the waiter came over and we ordered our food. I was a little traumatized from the drunk-incident a few days ago, so I just asked for water and Remington asked for the same to help make me feel comfortable. While we waited for our food to be prepared, I decided to ask him about that night I accidentally got intoxicated. "Remington?", I inquired him and then he looked up and responded, "Yes, ma chérie?" "Can you tell me what happened that night when I had gotten drunk?" His smile dropped and I was worried something bad occurred.

"Well, some douche poured hard liquor in the punch bowl which you ended up drinking a lot of, and then you didn't drive up there so I helped walk you home. More like carried you since you kept asking me to", he chuckled at that statement, which made me smile for only a second. "Then when I took you home, I gave you a glass of water to help you feel better and some chocolate because you practically screamed for some", I covered my face in humility of how weird I could be wasted. "You were like ice cold as well so I gave you my leather jacket to wear so you'd warm up." So, that's how I woke up with his jacket on me. "After that...", he scratched his head in hesitation as he seemed nervous. "What, Remington? What happened?" I was afraid of the answer but I wanted to know. He looked at me and grinned while saying, "You told me you were in love with me."

My cheeks started to heat up and my heart was beating a million times a minute. I just sat there with my mouth open unable to say anything for a while, Rem just looked concerned and then asked me, "Carina, are you okay?" I nodded and finally spoke again, "Did anything else happen after that?" He shook his head and explained, "Not really because you passed out and I just left you on your bed and that was how you found a black rose and love note on your doormat the next day." I raised my brows as the puzzle pieces in my mind started coming together and I thought I would be upset, but then I motioned for Rem to come closer and said, "I need to tell you something." He leaned over across the table then I did the same, and I grabbed his tie and pulled him closer to my lips and kissed him passionately and he didn't hesitate to kiss me back. I kissed him for about a minute. When I pulled away, I whispered "I love you" and he smiled and responded back, "I love you, too".

Then, I glanced at the other side of the restaurant and felt nervous as our friends were staring at us with wide eyes and jaws dropped. I glanced at Remington who noticed I was looking the other way and I let go of his tie when he saw as well we had been spotted kissing. We sat back down in our seats and I sheepishly waved at them, then they started applauding and cheering for us, causing a scene in the restaurant. People looked at them and us like we were crazy, but I couldn't help but laugh and so did Remington. Nina blew a kiss at us, and Emerson gave us two thumbs-up with a goofy smile. I mouthed "I love you both", and then they smiled and went back to their dinner and the waiter had just came to our table when they did.

When we were finished, we met up with our friends outside behind the restaurant, and we received hugs and congratulations for me and Rem finally being together. "You two are just so perfect together", Nina stated and Em mentioned, "I knew it was inevitable for Rem since he never stopped talking about you." "SHUT UP, EMERSON!", Rem complained, making me giggle and blush, "At least I didn't spend sleepless nights drawing my girlfriend." It was Nina's turn to blush, and Emerson just rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out to tease him. "Well, I'm so happy I got to see you guys tonight", I said to Nina and Em, "and that you're happy about me and Rem" I concluded as I held Remington's hand. They made aww'ing sounds and then they said goodbye to us before walking away.

I looked at Remington and we broke out in laughter. "Well", I said when I was finished laughing, "Now all our friends know." "I'm pretty sure they already knew before we first kissed." His comment made me blush and then he looked at me intently, making me nervous. He stepped closer to me, and then held me close to me and was about to kiss me before asking me with a smirk and arched brow, "Is it okay to kiss you now that you've been wined and dined?" I looked into his perfect, dark eyes and smiled brightly as I nodded once. He smiled back and proceeded to kiss me passionately and erase any doubt I had that he didn't return my feelings for him. I ended up getting pushed against the wall and pulled him closer as he held me close and secure in his grasp as we kept kissing. When he finally pulled away, I opened my eyes after almost a minute to see his mouth smudged in my red lipstick and I stifled back laughter. Rem touched his face to find some of the lipstick on his hand, and chuckled lightly and rested his forehead on mine. We just stayed like that for a couple of minutes just looking into each other's eyes before finally walking out of there where he walked me home and I thanked him for the dinner before he kissed my cheek before saying goodnight.

AWWW!!! Wasn't that cute? Oh, there's only 3 more days of school for me and then I'm free from it and have time to write more. There's so much more exciting content to come now that we're at this point of the story. I can't to see your reactions to certain events and situations that will occur in this story.
